Now I know it's virtually against the rules to say tr (gasp!) here, but I gotta. A lot of folks talk about trolling like it's deep and nefarious. Like something with more feeeeeling involved than just "yer gonna get it."

Now I know trolls hurt. My post is not meant to excuse them. There's a lot of people on this site who think...I dunno, way too hard into whether or not you mean some extreme amount of love or hate. Me I don't get that. But I think there should be some awareness or levity or something on this site.

Now agin I know trolls hurt. But my question on this post, is does it really change a person's intent if you react to this by saying that the person maybe feels a bit more than just lol or maybe it's some thing gey...or maybe it's well...maybe it's a troll.

Besides, is being sure that something is human, so failingly human that it shares, loves and cares, really necessary to being here? And what does that have to do with: ufos, being an a@# hole on occasion but at least having a point, and maybe, I don't know...not being such a dern party pooper??

Feelings? I don't even think about them when i am online, after all, i am seeing a wall of "type" when i am here, sometimes perhaps an avatar that may represent the person.

If someone is passionate about a subject, that does not make them a troll. I always base my opinion on facts and evidence. If i can't get "THE" point across i will not even engage on a subject never mind read it. If (has not happened yet) i continually get "shot down" on a subject i am passionate and knowledgeable about ..... again i would walk away (actually click away if you want to be pedantic)

Just me i suppose

You are hitting something that is starting to be talked about - our generations of 'Little princesses and snowflakes.

This is the product of values being put into their heads when at school and college etc which don't actually reflect what real life is about. Older generations are use to being 'trolled' especially when they were being either stupid or naive. It made them examine their values and grow up.

With terrorism on the rise, one now needs discernment and the willingness to act So what if your trolled - just don't feed it. Sticks and stones etc

There are different kinds of trolls, its a phrased coin to undermine someones ethics and morals on someones subjective truth.. I have an opinion, if the other disagree just use the phrase;" Youre a troll "
Someone who uses is allegory but swapped the words ;" then we agree to disagree " is Sam Harris..
Instead of using the derogatory term of using the word troll, he swapped it to a term.

I never said I was called one directly and it hurt. I said that when people roll others for lols, instead of recognizing it, everyone goes into spasmodic shock that it could be true. That the person or whatever on the other end is not as hurt, confused in life, preoccupied with therapy, just like them and doing it to be insaaaanely complicated.

"Trolling" or to be a "troll" is different on a forum than the definition it has in most dictionaries. Still, a form of "fishing" by baiting...but its the intent of the comment, statement, remark or reply that makes it so.

Some incite emotions, others may elicit reactions...but I believe there are still some folks out there that just want to breed negativity and incite angry or un-necessary responses.

I think we see it most everywhere in forums to a lesser or greater degree. It seems to be more profound in numbers at popular sites like us at ATS.
