I also lost my father 9 years ago and feel his presence with me even as I write this. His bday was June as well. He would have turned 83 this year.

To my Dad: My powder is still dry, the rubber side is still down, and I am not taking any wooden nickels...☺

wow Night Star.. thank you so much. I lost my Dad too 9 years ago. I feel the same, it's hard to believe it has been that long. Of course now I am crying, but it helps me remember all the fun times too. No more pain now, he was so brave through it all. Hugs to everyone on this thread.
..I miss you Dad.. Happy Father's Day, I love you

That was beautiful! And yes hugs to everyone in this thread!!!

It is weird yes.

Kinda scary too. I'm the oldest male in the family now. Except for my exes father. He's not been around in forever.

My dad died 23 years ago on fathers day. I miss him so much and the hurt never goes away. I wish he could have met my wife and kids. I wish I could go to his house and have a beer with him. I don't really like fathers day now that I think about it. My wifes dad died 15 years ago, our son has never met a grandfather. God I'm depressing.

I sometimes feel my parents presence, just a subtle kind of energy. Hard to explain.

I suppose that would be scary, but hey you're still standing and I'm sure you have family members looking up to you now.

Of all days to pass away on. Wow, double whammy! Both of my Grand Fathers died before I was born, so I never knew what it was like to have a Grand Father. One of my Grand Mothers only spoke French, so I hardly knew here really. I knew my Father's Mother, that is really the only Grand Parent I was close to.

Well, you are a Father yourself, so try to enjoy and revel in the moments on that day.

I know. I still picture him in his favorite chair, watching his favorite shows and listening to his favorite music, his humor, generous and thoughtful soul. I'll never forget all that he and my Mom have done for me throughout my life. Mom just passed in October. She was 92.

You always dread the moment you will lose a parent and then one day, you wake up and there you are without them.

Thank you. I shall at that. And thanks, I needed to think a little. Maybe shed a tear or two.

I needed to shed a tear or two myself. I'm sure you have a lot of company and we aren't the only ones.
