Who is the greatest living actor and actress.

I had a random thought about Inglorious Basterds the Tarantino film. And it struck me: Christophe Waltz is definitely the greatest living actor.

For actress I have to say a tie between Anne Hathaway and Care Blanchett.


Runners up for actor: Liam Neeson and Christian Bale

I would have to choose John Lithgow. True he has done some silly movies over the years but he is a great character actor.

actress has to be meryl. dont see how that is even up for discussion.

actors is a bit harder.
has to be a pacino, deniro, or hoffman kind of a deal.

A second for Cristopher Walken, and I find myself liking Vin Diesel quite a bit. I really have no opinion on female actresses.

There's too many actors/actresses I enjoy, but I think I can sum up the greatest of all time with one simple name: Gary Oldman.

I know everyone will have different reasons for their picks, so here's mine. Growing up I've watched more movies than I should probably admit, and saw many actors that made me laugh, cry, or even just flat out piss me off. One actor I saw a lot was Gary Oldman. What's great about him is that even though I saw many movies with him in it, I didn't realize it was him at all. It wasn't until the Harry Potter films when he was Sirius Black. I enjoyed his portrayal so much that I decided to IMDB the character to see who he was and what else he's done. My mind was blown when I saw all the movies he was in that I've seen, such as Bram Stokers Dracula, The Professional, Fifth Element, etc.....and not only did I not realize he was in those films, I didn't realize they were all the same actor playing those roles.

Other actors I can recognize no matter what role they play. Adam Sandler?? Easy. Morgan Freeman?? Cake. John Lithgow?? He's one of my other favorites, but I still recognize him no matter what. Gary Oldman?? He was so good at what he did that it took me many years to realize he was the one doing it. XD

Two turd buckets who are fooling many people into believing they are human.

It's hard to come up with one single greatest actor.
I would have said Marlon Brando as my all time favourite.
De Niro did some amazing work, but also a lot of crap later on.
I like Pacino, but I think Christian Bale is one of the best current actors, when I watch a lot of his films his performance always stands out to me, so much at times that I start paying more attention to his acting than the plot. And I have to choose Meryl Streep for actress, I can't think of a film I've seen where she wasnt a joy to watch.

And for actress, right now, I gotta go with Amy Adams.
