Free Falling/Going Home

Growing so tired now
Tired of floating
Spent from swimming
Staring up at my sister moon

She smiles down at me
One last breath
Deep and painful
Point my toes toward the endless bottom

And just sink
Slow and deliberate
Making myself heavy
Tiny particles of sand brushing my skin

Rockweed tangled around my fingers
The moonlight’s fading
Just a pinpoint on the surface now
I close my eyes

I’m almost there
The ocean caresses my body
It feels like going home
Blood pulsing like a hammer through my brain

Louder and louder
Flashbacks of lights and love
Like a strobe
Racing past

Time to let go
I squeeze my fists tight and take a deep breath
The water is hot and heavy
It fills my chest

The pain feels like freedom
My lungs are full now
Surprised that I am not fighting
Memories come faster now

It’s almost done
Can’t hold on any longer
Don’t want to
Drifting away
Drifting
Floating
Silence
At peace

Wait, don't go..don't leave just yet..
For I've great things planned for you.
You were never meant to be a silhouette,
And you still have things left here to do.

Don't leave before the show is over,
For the final scene's always the best.
If you go now you'll never know or,
See why you had to endure all this.


Which means I felt your words. And I wanted to "save" you..lol . You should write more.. I enjoyed reading this a lot!

I agree with you. I have watched Harold and Maude 7 times and I still learn from the movie. Cat Stevens is also amazing.

Thank you..but that came directly from what TNMockingbird wrote... wasn't a thought about it till I read her post and what she wrote.. Pulled feelings from the very depth of me she did.. and that is very hard for a writer to do.
