Actually they are all illegal.

So those American kids tried to compete against illegals and lost. Rather than being upset with the illegals, why not look inwards at the kids who had the bigger advantages but couldn't keep up? Or do they deserve the scholarships regardless of merit, just for being citizens?

Why don't we as Americans pay for the entire worlds education?

Why do you keep deflecting with that question when it has zero to do with what is going on??

Hyperbole is a poor argument.

I don't care what your questions are.

Everyone else in this country is expected to follow our laws and so are they.

When did we start rewarding criminals?

Sorry that this bothers your bleeding heart but to bad.

Then deport them (and their degress) back to Mexico. Probably would do Mexico some good, honestly. But its money down the drain for us.

You have constructed a poor argument.

They are illegally here in the US.

Why are they not expected to follow the same rules as everyone else?

I totally agree. Then they can apply for student visas like the rest of the world.

We already have 42 million legal immigrants.

And you got that number where?

Then they can apply for student visas like the rest of the world.

And the irony here is that with that they would be accepted and we would be right back to the same point.

So what at least they would be following the same rules as everyone else and we wouldn't rewarding criminal behavior.

Being a nation of laws is what makes this a good country to live in.

It is up to the Federal Government to enforce the law. They have made this VERY clear when the various states tried to enforce their borders.

It is not the job of some board doling out scholarships, or of learning institutions, to ferret out who is and is not legal. Its easy to fake. Very easy to fake.

So until the Federal Government does its job...what else can you expect? And if you are gonna take them to task for this....im sure there is a long list you need to take with you.

Scholarships are issued through private entities, it's up to them to decide who to give the money to.

Again, they're illegal and most probably don't even speak English in the home. Rather than be upset that they overcame those difficulties to win the awards why not be upset with our own domestic students who weren't even able to beat them for the money?

The executive branch legislates the laws and the judicial branch enforces them.

Why are laws on the books if they are not to be enforced?

How do you know they were competing?

When they finish school, they certainly won't be a financial burdon. On top of that, any excerpt that includes 'as Anne Coulter has noted...." is an immediate signal to stop reading, immediately.

They won't be? That isn't the sentiment I keep hearing from all those recent college grads who can't find work and are now demanding $15/hour as a minimum wage.

Because our own citizens are trying to get college scholarships as well.

I read that wrong, thought it said illegal. My mistake, thanks for the numbers anyway tho.

And you still have yet to address those kids not being the ones that broke the law, their parents did.
Why should they be punished for that action.
