Here is more proof that conspiracy may exist among medical professionals.

An opinion from 2014 from a Dr. Paul R. McHugh, former psychiatrist-in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital, discusses possible links between transgenderism and mental disorder.

The Dr. also claims sex change is “biologically impossible”.

I'm sure somebody has disproven this idea and others may have proof as well.

Very controversial comments from this Dr.

Former Johns Hopkins Chief of Psychiatry Says Trans Movement is “Collaborating with Madness”

The internet is filled with outrage at Dr. Paul R. McHugh, the former psychiatrist-in-chief for Johns Hopkins Hospital, and his take on transgender people.

Dr. McHugh said that transgenderism is a “mental disorder” and should be met with treatment, and that sex change is “biologically impossible”.

He went on to note that people who promote sexual reassignment surgery are conspiring with and promoting a mental disorder and only hurting the individual.

Well yeah, and that's a sign that we are headed in the right direction.

See, there's two ways to force change on a system (a.k.a breaking the system): you find out what it consumes and then you either starve it or you over-feed it.

American's have no talent for the "starve" option, but we are exceedingly good at the "over-feeding" option.

The way I see it? Everything is going according to plan.

Caitlyn J. will "re-transition" and we will all dutifully find him to be Irresistibly handsome, applaud his bravery and weep openly.

We know what we're doing.

We should "collaborate with madness" at every opportunity. Collaborate with madness harder.

I shouldn't bother responding to what has now appears to be an anti-transgender campaign you are waging but this just shows your _________________. Couldn't say what I wanted without breaking those pesky T&C's

Dr. Paul McHugh of Johns Hopkins

Let’s establish who and what Dr. McHugh is. Dr. Paul McHugh is an ultra-Conservative Catholic who blames gays for the church’s sexual abuse scandal, believes sexual orientation is a choice and would rather let an 11-year-old girl raped by a relative die rather than have an abortion. He was part of the campaign that led to the murder of abortion provider Dr. George Tiller in 2009.

When he was put in charge of the gender clinic Johns Hopkins in the 1975, by his own admission he intended from beginning to close it. The “study” he did was designed from the start to facilitate his goal. The study itself was pure nonsense, full of non-reproducible results, punishing patients for having jobs that were “too masculine,” or having been married to a woman at some point in their lives. McHugh has made it clear he finds cultural acceptance of transgender people unacceptable.

As a result, no reputable researcher will cite his “study,” and was not considered credible by any professional medical or mental health organization when developing guidelines for the treatment of transgender individuals.

Debunking Dr. Paul McHugh

More or less, McHugh is drawing conclusions from a deeply flawed follow-up study on transsexuals and from a second study which is based on reassignment of Intersex infants. What he completely fails to draw from the Reiner study that he refers to is the logical corollary to the study's findings - namely that a person's gender identity is wired at some fundamental level of the brain, and does not readily shape itself based on social cues. This is in fact the underlying persistence of the transsexual narrative in the first place. Why McHugh fails to see this reality is simply a clue to his view of the world. (and I would feel very sorry for anyone who had to deal with him as a therapist for gender issues)

Paul McHugh is wrong

I could go on but I won't bother. McHugh has been discredited.

I think he's absolutely correct.

1. As I learned in Anthropology 101 . . . there's no evidence of ANY culture that endured more than 50 years past when sex role confusion became a way of life in the culture.

2. Research indicates that if the 'gender confused' can be helped to survive in tact several years past puberty and particularly into early 20's that they then tend to do alright as their birth gender.

3. Those who have undergone hormone treatments and particularly major sex change 'reconstruction' tend to have a MUCH ELEVATED incidence of depression AND SUICIDE--'SUCCESSFUL' SUICIDE.

4. All is NOT well in Glockamora . . . the propaganda is far from the whole story. The oligarchy DOES have an agenda with the whole mess.

That's pure horse #.

What metric was used to measure levels of "sex role confusion"?

Jesus.

That was more than 45 years ago.

I don't care enough about your cheeky reply to research it at this point.

The basic fact was that when males and females could no longer depend on clear boundaries about what was and was not construed to be male vs female behaviors--then the culture started to disintegrate. And the disintegration was basically complete in 50 years or less.

So okay, you are all, "sex role confusion is an indicator of societal collapse", and then you've got nothing but a benighted understanding of Anthropology?

That's notable.

Thanks.

You must have failed anthro 101.

Many cultures have different gender roles. Particularly Polynesia.

Also South American and Asian.

Evidently you failed to understand the point.

The point was NOT that comparing culture to culture males and females had DIFFERENT roles.

The point was that WHEN the roles became seriously confused without being sorted out to some new kind of definition and stability, that THEN the culture had 50 years or less to survive.

And, no, I did NOT fail Anthro 101. I enjoyed it a lot and got a high grade. IIRC, it was a high "A."

How many times must this guy be debunked?

I know many of you have read other threads on transgender.

McHugh has been debunked in everyone that he was brought up (most).

Yet - - you insist on throwing it out there again.

Im all for people doing what they want with their bodies and I do know some people should have been born the opposite sex and look like the opposite sex without makeup or trying to. BUT it could be that transitioning is a quest for an ultimate happiness that will never finalize because a man cant have a baby and a woman cant have a penis so there really isn't an end game for it,,i said "could be", I don't know, everyone is different.

We are in the middle of another grand socio-political experiment.

Reminds me how back in the 70's someone got the bright
idea that better self esteem would fix everything. Now we
have an epidemic of toxic narcissism. The prisons are full of people
with high self esteem, but no self respect.

So this psychiatrist has been "discredited". We may live to see who is finally discredited.

Well to be fair, when organizing a company all roles within the company need to be clearly defined in order for that company to have scalability.

Just saying.
