That 'spirit of anticipation' thing is a great point.

The world is now 'jaded' everything is gray and evil.

Most people live without hope of a better tomorrow.

Those 'saucers' represented that.

I pointed out a program which started in the fifties which involved saucer shaped inflatable craft.
This craft was capable of over two hundred miles an hour, was incredibly agile thanks to electric fan motors and, in tests, stayed aloft for up to three months at a time.

which project was that?
Mogul had big high balloons but no motors.
some airship?

That's true, in some people s minds; they represent the unknown potential or good.

Ultimately though, humans may have to come to their own inner good.

The golden age of UFOs?

Maybe the 50s, 60s 0r 70s?

The 80s were when they upgraded the dis-misinformation agenda. So I doubt there was any gold in that

the first Matrix movie had it right.
Nearly everyone knows this, even if
they won't admit it.

You know I liked the concept of the matrix movie but not the film.

How do you define that concept

The 'matrix' was ahead of it's time.
Nothing new of course, but it put
forward things to a general audience
that made them thoughtful.

So I thank those Crazy W brothers.
They did everyone a service.

Now.. humans ARE A plague on the world.

But that's the thing.

ALL apex predators, on any world, would
likely be.

So the fact that any organic or any machine
(the analog digital hypothesis)

would also likely be an 'out of control
replicator',

that notion has much predictive power,

about 'aliens and ufos' and 'spirituality'
too.

Of course it can be taken too far..
but it's thought provoking.

I think they call it… procreation

increase the plague

That's what makes high strangeness so STRANGE. They seem to be purely "sensory" and
not physical, but often, at the same time PHYSICAL.

And a perfect example is the 1979 Robert Taylor incident you mentioned in the OP - possibly my Number One example of High Strangeness ever reported in 70+ years and yet, in itself, relatively 'small scale' and parochial, the only witness being a dog (if only Dr. Doolittle existed!). Taylor's case remains unsolved, possibly the only UFO case in the world that remains open on Police records as an 'assault by person or persons unknown'. The strange marks left in the grass are baffling, let alone the damage to Taylor's clothes corresponding with 'something' attempting to lift him off the ground.

He was an ordinary middle-aged bloke, not a fan of Sci-Fi or possessing any interest in UFOs, but he faced something extraordinary and illogical. As his wife said to him when he returned home: "Ochhhh, there's no such thing as flying saucers, luv; come on, I'll make you a hot cuppa" - or words to that effect.

Standard theories such as seeing 'Venus' or suffering delusions etc have failed to break the case, the physical evidence in itself causing most people to pause and scratch their heads in eternal confusion.

A small but perfect case. Is it 'The One' out of the endless mountains of junk presented as evidence over 70 years? As we tend to forget, we only need The One.

Great thread.

Are you referring to the aliens in NJ who said to a farmer one night?

“ Were peaceful people, we just want your dog…

'The Matrix' is a great example of a machine society
replicating out of control, consuming nearly all
resources and killing nearly all humans.

Some people say, "a logical machine socieity' woudln't
replicate out of control.

I think not.

They MIGHT out of self preservation at the 11th hour
start conversation programs..

but until then, it would be 'balls to the walls'

Must have been a cute dog!

In the Taylor case, the Scottish West Lothian Council recently (late 2018) decided to create one of those 'UFO trails' in honour of the incident.

West Lothian Council has created a “UFO trail” in woods where a forestry worker claimed he was attacked by a craft from outer space almost 40 years ago. It remains the only such incident in the UK to have led to a criminal investigation and made headlines around the world.

... UFO fans the world over will now be able to find with ease the location of Scotland’s most intriguing UFO incident. This is Scotland’s biggest case of its kind and the marker posts and display board will ensure that the site will be easily reached by those who flock to it each year.

www.scotsman.com...

I'm not fond of these 'trails'. The Rendlesham trail in Suffolk is particularly crass.

4 years later, and the fact still exists, there was a time when 'UFOs' and 'aliens' were seen as mostly benevolent; by the make love not war personalities of the majority of 'contactees'. Or at least neutral / strange.

Now it's mostly anal probes and soul sucking demons, or hostilesnuts and bolts aliens.

*Something* has certainly changed.

You could say that it's entirely cultural.. but remember, Russian and Nuclear war and FEAR was almost palpably thick during the 'Golden Age of UFOs'.

Now I suppose you could say, that people in their hearts were so desperate for 'good news cosmic saviors' that they still 'believed' in a happy future for the human race.

Still; one would think that all that fear would have produced much less Hippy Like 'aliens' and UFO encounters.

But it didn't.

I'm still fascinated by the notion that increasing levels of EMF saturation have affected the human body, and that is one factor at play here.

How that is a factor, that is the $64,000 question.

Yes, mass media fake UFO stuff has really enflamed people's imaginations, due to TTSA in large part.

The 'golden age' topic is not just the number, but the quality of reports.

And the 'tone' of reports.
