Maybe we should have men's rooms, ladies rooms and separate but equal rooms for the sexually confused.

How about Gender Dysphoria ignorant.

Medical specialists out ranked ignorant opinion.

It would be extremely effective to teach children that people are people, and just ignore the whole people are different thing.

No special cases, people are people are people.

Oh thank god.

I want my kids as confused and passionless as possible when they hit the real world, and unable to compete with their foreign counterparts who are actually getting decent educations at half the cost.

Before everyone gets all sensitive and "open" why not teach them things like math first.

Humor me.

If they can make change for a dollar, then maybe we can add a gender identity class later.

The state of Washington is going to start a program to teach gender identity to students from Kindergarten thru high school.

Looks pretty intense and perhaps a bit controversial as well.

Ways to "express" gender is part of the plan.

Looks like a long term agenda.

WA Schools to Teach Gender Identity Curriculum to Kindergarteners

alternate source

Starting in 2017, public schools in Washington State will have to teach children about gender identity beginning in kindergarten.

Beginning in Kindergarten, students will be taught about the many ways to express gender. Gender expression education will include information about the manifestations of traits that are typically associated with one gender. Crossdressing is one form of gender expression.

Third graders will be introduced to the concept of gender identity. These children will be taught that they can choose their own gender.

Fourth graders will be expected to “define sexual orientation,” which refers to whether a person identifies as heterosexual, homosexual, or bisexual; they’ll also be taught about HIV prevention. Children in fourth grade will be told that they can choose their sexual orientation.

Fourth and fifth graders will learn about the relativity of gender roles and why such roles are social constructs that are not inherent to who we are as male or female human beings.

Seventh graders will be expected to “distinguish between biological sex, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.”

High school students will critically “evaluate how culture, media, society, and other people influence our perceptions of gender roles, sexuality, relationships, and sexual orientation.”

I have an idea... how about we teach our kids basic functions and not put so much emphasis on gender...

We have a very poor education system that needs serious reform. This is not the answer.

So you're telling me that schools teaching about gender identity will somehow turn them into transgender people? LOL!

I'd say that's insanity. I hope you're joking because that's not how it works.

What exactly about this could screw kids up? It's no different from teaching kids sex-ed from an early age.

It's not even sex-ed - - - which IMO - - - is taught way too late and lacks crucial information. Like learning what "Lust" is - - that your body chemicals want you to mate. Often to someone really bad for you.

Anyway, children as young as 2 are gender aware, and understand there are differences.

It does?

According to .... whom?

(Never mind - it's obviously according to internet warriors who decided to spin the information and readers like you who decree that it is "intense" and "controversial as well!")

Really?

How much are they paying you , man?

No, that is not at all even close to what I said.

"Screw them up" (or words to that effect) was the phrase I used. In other words, confuse them by filling their brains up with s#, making them all the more "moldable".

I also think some teachers and school administrative staff might take these new lessons off on tangents.

That could prove to be biased and possibly dangerous.

Sounds to me like you just want the right to judge people openly without criticism being a repercussion. If you judge someone unfairly then you should have to deal with people criticizing you about it because your judgement is a criticism of another person to begin with.

I think this is a great idea and will maybe teach some kids that we should accept other people's differences and wishes.

My kids don't need to understand why some nutjob thinks he is a woman and demands the entire world accommodate him in his delusional thinking .

Next they will be telling us that guy on the corner with the " I'm Jesus " sign needs to be addressed as Jesus because his crazy ass thinks he is.

Kids are in a Social Environment with their peers, probably more hours then with their parents (except weekends).

That is just a fact. You want robots? "Here, add this" - - - ignore everything else that goes on in your life. Your parents can handle that - - say maybe for an hour at the dinner table.

What world do you live in?

No, they'll probably call the Muslims to stone the guy to death in the street.

Apparently they do.

They're sure not going to get facts from you.

How about if a kid can't do basic arithmetic by the time they are 10, they need to be in remedial classes.

I could hardly believe it when I was working in the alternative school (urban core Special Ed, back in the 90s) and the kids (middle-school aged) were allowed to use a frucking calculator instead of learning long-hand mathematics.

Who said robots?

Are you inferring that a good education makes people robots?

Our schools can't even teach math and here is another feel-good program to add to an already burdened and ineffective school system.

Plus, if parents want to their children to learn about gender identities, THEY can teach it. Why in the # does raising children have to be the governments responsibility?

BTW those would be mental health specialists, who have determined the gender dysphoria is a mental disorder.

You know, like schizophrenia.

Indoctrinate and confuse them young seems to be the new plan by the liberal education system. The smartest thing liberals ever did was take over the education system and then use NAZI brainwashing techniques to destroy the family and traditional values. Disgusting, but expected.
