There's a bit of the usual election time partisianship going on, but the Democrats never liked Trump even when he was one. He was always considered a joke by pretty much everyone other than the hardcore businessman crowd who respected his success. To give an example, imagine Ron Paul decided to run for President again but he was doing it under the Green Party and preaching everything he has spent 30 years arguing against. That's similar to what Trump is doing now, except Trump had little respect to begin with.

That noise you're hearing from all around you is the sound of heavenly face-palms from the thousands of women who sacrificed much for women to be involved in politics as something other than a pretty face.
