Sick of the term snowflake? I certainly am!

In our overly PC world, I find use of the word Snowflake to describe a White person as highly hypocritical and offensive. I'm not the kind of person to be all PC preachy BUT this has got to stop. Would you find it ok to to compare an African American to a piece of Coal? I hope you wouldn't find that ok! So why then do you think it's fine to refer to a White person as a Snowflake? It's REALLY RACIST in my opinion and I think the word should be treated just like any other racial slang and be avoided entirely. What do you folks think?

Except it's not used in a racial term. Any colour person can be a special little snowflake. Even you.

I just get sick at how people hear something from one place and they run with the term until it is everywhere. It is that childish behavior of speech people learn when in grade school and used to grow out of. It shows a lack of intelligence in my opinion. Cooties anyone

I believe it refers to a person's fragility, not their skin color.

Relax 191. It is not so much a racial statement, though some may wish to use it that way, but more a recent pejorative used by many to describe what they consider to be the fragile 'victimness' of many people they see as being on the liberal side of the political spectrum.

I too do not like the term. However I must say that even as you objected in the last thread to the use of the term 'snowflake' I did not understand it to be used in a racial manner at all. Rather it was used as an example of how a stupid term like that can be used to point in the other direction also. To all whiny people.

The term has been around for quite a while and I believe used more so after the 90s. It's not a racial connotation.

Here's the problem, We have entitled brats getting something they clearly don't deserve. Look at that thread with the Chewbacca Mom. She won scholarship for doing nothing. That scholarship should have gone to a person who wants to go to college with a lower economic status and is also a hard worker.

There are many people no matter how much academic and extracurricular activities they have done still couldn't get scholarship and even if they do it isn't enough to pay the tuition fees.

Maybe it's a slur against albinos?

It's just a usual slur given to people who dont fiercely embrace patriotic and jingoistic notions of American culture. Formally described As tree hugger or peacenik.
