The only how-to's I've been able to find look to be from an earlier version of the forums, what it shows me does not reflect what I am seeing. I've uploaded what I'd like my sig to be, but can't find any feature to add it as a sig

On the top line of icons, fifth from the right, you will see a circle containg a "v" shape.
Click on that, and another line of icons appears.
Click on "Account", and a page opens up which enables you to select options, including writing in a signature.

I thought that icon was symbolic of a down arrow; thanks for clarifying its real organic simplicity and helping out. I couldn't have explained it better.
