The only good thing to say about windos 10 is that it managed to format a 500 gb hdd that i have and no other computer i have could manage .

It boots up twice as fast as a identical laptop on vista and is running ok on 2gb of ram on a 32 bit system .

I just do not trust it

That's with only 16 gigs of DDR3 ram on a 3.7 GHZ single chip quad core...But then...I keep my gaming to my gaming consoles...

ONLY?! Do you live on planet Earth? Because I'm pretty sure that's higher specs than 90% of the PC running and at least better than 75% of gaming computers. Nobody other than servers have more than one CPU chip and 16gb of ram is still overkill for most uses in 2016...and you game on console? Do you think you need a 5000$ computer to play games on it? Sheesh...

You can't really have too much RAM. 8 gigs of RAM should be standard these days, and 16 is even better. But real performance increases come when you move up to SSD, and ditch those mechanical drives, except for backup.

Start>Settings>Update and security>Recovery> Roll back to windows 7...done.

Even easier:

When they pull that trick, just decline the terms of service and they roll it backward themselves.

LOL! True that.

Try this. Only idiots keep updating. I'm using windows 8. Fk 8.1. I close my update and can play any games fine. Windows 8 nothing is wrong with it. Only idiots update to 8.1. Waste of space and annoying update notification. The only thing worth updating is firewall or virus scanner.

Regarding OS X on a PC, you may want to chat with me outside of your thread - I won't say much apart from unless you are tech-savvy, it's not worth your time and energy to try (you're better off making your own Linux distro).

And on the side, welcome to my world - it only took a free $200 upgrade to get me on Windows 10 (oh, and did I mention it came with a lovely complimentary computer wipe?). Microsoft probably had a heart attack when I told them a Linux dual boot was better than devoting the PC to solely Windows.

Now that everything is installed (and that I dragged Cortana + all the Microsoft Spyware out kicking and screaming), it's not great, but it's usable. Make sure your account is a physical account; NEVER log in with an email account, as once you lock that out on the internet, your PC will not let you in.

I ran across the site while trying to find a way to keep Windows from force upgrading my work machine:

ultimateoutsider.com...

There's a tool that will kill the Windows 10 upgrade and nag file for you. Obviously, use at your own risk. But with that said, my research made me feel good enough about the tool that I used it on my work computer. For what that's worth.
