I saw this NRA ad today and I'm confused at who it's actually for and why. It has Charlie Daniels talking tough toward Iran about how they may have met our Obama the "Fresh Faced Flower Child President" but they "Haven't met America" yet.

The message is pretty clear. "Look out Terrorists, Here in America we have Tough Cowboy's and Truck Drivers with Guns and we'll kill you if you mess with us." Apparently we have tough Fiddle Players here too like ol' Charlie Daniels here.

What I don't get is who the hell is this commercial for exactly??? Is it for Iran and Middle Eastern Terrorists like it's allegedly speaking to??? Because I don't think it's getting air time there and it's not in their language.

Or is it just some kind of NRA thing where they like to see themselves on TV acting tough and making generalized threats to other nations??

Is the NRA deciding our foreign policy now or choosing where and when our military is sent in to battle???

Is it normal for entertainers or the NRA to threaten other nations or terrorist organizations in the name of America now???

He's quite possibly insane and or delusional.

Iran is a country which has been under attack from the US for some time now.

We overthrew their democratically elected government in 1953 and installed a dictator.

It took the Iranian people almost 30 years to oust our puppet and in the process, stormed our embassy, which was our forward operating base.

As punishment for ousting our dictator, we ordered our other puppet, Saddam, to attack Iran, which he happily did.

To encourage the war, we not only armed Saddam but we also sold weapons to Iran in spite of there being an embargo...

Iran is so sad as a country, they cant even refine their own oil. They have to send it to Russia who refines it and sends it back to them.

SMH.

Obviously, the ads supposed to appeal to the NRA's core supporter base... the blindly patriotic & hardcore anti-middle eastern type of people.

I look at the NRA in this context.

They are defending the 2nd Amendment.

The same could be said for someone saying something that I disagree with, but doing so to defend and protect the 1st Amendment.

If you're against the 2nd, then you may be against the NRA.

If they are that tough why don't they go to the Middle East and fight ISIS or the Taliban. Let's see how long they will last when they faced a real enemy.

This is done by the NRA Foundation, a funding arm of the NRA that exists to give grants to local ranges, etc. for firearms education. This is one of many videos they have and, as far as I can tell, the only one quite with this "attitude." So don't take it out of context. Look at some of the other videos to see the overall theme.

Let's see if I can embed a couple: Nope. Didn't work, so visit the link to see the tone of the others.

It's just an ad formula that has worked pretty well in the past, so the NRA is trying it themselves.

It's in the same vein as these:

As I wish nothing but ill will towards Iran and, to be honest, Obama, I don't see anything wrong with the ad.

I believe Charlie Daniels is exercising his First Amendment Right!
remember:
"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it"

Not exactly. The blindly patriotic wouldn't be mocking the POTUS. The era of blind patriotism is over... we're now in the era of open eyed resistance.

It's both funny and sad. An old tough talking entertainer bragging about how tough America is; even though it's the people my age and younger who would actually have to do the fighting. Just like the other shock jocks and political commentators.

Not to mention he's ridiculously wrong. It's not the Ayatollahs in Iran who are enabling terrorists; it's the extremist Wahhabi preachers in Saudi Arabia and Qatar who enable those terrorists (with funding and equipment from Western intelligence agencies, among others). Al Shabaab, Boko Haram, ISIS, Al Qaeda, Al Nusra, the Taliban, and those other groups are Wahhabis and Wahhabi-leaning. And they have a blood feud with Shiite Islam, whose leaders are the Ayatollahs in Iran.

So ironically, he should be encouraging the Ayatollahs, not threatening them.

What he's saying is that once Trump becomes the president, there won't be anymore knobby weak kneed limp wristed punk bitches like obama drawing imaginary lines and daring the terrorists to cross them and not doing crap once they do. He's saying they'll be meeting the old badass America that don't put up with threats by the bitch enemies.

If the terrorists ever make it a war on American soil, you might want to pray that you're close to one of those cowboys, or truck drivers, or fiddle players that aren't afraid to defend the homeland or run inside a protective barrier while they wait for help to arrive.

He's not just some tough talking entertainer. I've seen a 95 year old elderly woman in my neighborhood shoot an intruder in the neck while he attempted to break into her house. You don't have to be in your 20's to defend yourself or this nation. You just need guts.

I'm not saying he can't say it. I'm also not against the 2nd amendment. I just don't recall any other organization making a commercial that revolved around talking smack to another nation in the name of America before.

I can't tell if it's done to say, "Hey Terrorists don't even try to attack us." or "Hey Terrorists, we're coming for you now that Obama is almost gone". Also not sure who the "we" would be either. If charlie is rounding up some Truck Drivers and Cowboys to go on the attack or what.

It's just really weird to have someone like the NRA openly threaten another nation.

It also says nothing about the NRA itself or the organization. Other than, I guess that they're tough guys you shouldn't mess with??

Well, that's blatant bullcrap. Khamenei made a big deal not that long ago. meeting with the leader of Hamas and promising thousands of dollars ($30,000, if I recall) to each widow and family of any Hamas terrorist who died while carrying out a terror attack against Israel.

The Supreme Ayatollah is a terrorist enabling POS. His fellow ayatollahs are equally terrorist enabling, sponsoring assholes.

So you're saying it's him saying not to come here to our soil and pick a fight because we're all strapped to the gills and we'll shoot you.

Rather than now that Obama is almost out we're coming for ya.

Imagine that.... What he's saying is that this is about to be America, Home of the Brave again. While you were sleeping, terrorists have attacked Americans and Europeans and during every European attack, they threaten America and tell us we're next...

You've "seen" it have you?

What were you doing well 'witnessing' this impressive event... cowering behind the couch or something?
