I Sat Here

And I sat here... just contemplating,
Thinking, dreaming and deliberating,
Asking questions, exploring thoughts,
Deriving answers, connecting dots.

Which is what I do from time to time,
Forget about the world, explore the mind.
To see what I've really learned about life,
Determine what I've gotten wrong and right.

So I sat here...just considering,
Dreaming, musing, and envisioning,
How my life would've been different if,
I'd been given my each and every wish.

I wouldn't of learned anything of value,
Would've never met all the people who,
Have touched me in such profound ways,
I would've never been who I am today.

So, thanks to all of you that helped make me, me.
For being part of my long, but well worth it journey,
You had an impact on who I became to be,
And I'm grateful you took time to walk with me.

Such a lovely poem.

But even if your desires and wishes were granted, I am sure you would still remain who you really are.
