The President cannot order people sent to the guillotine, either. I know you are talking metaphorically, but you need to disabuse yourself of the fantasy that Trump shares your desire to sweep out all corruption. As a billionaire real estate developer, casino operator, and television celebrity, his livelihood has always depended on corruption favoring him. I have no doubt he keeps an enemies list, and he will do everything in his executive power to punish those whom he feels have wronged him, but it will have nothing to do with whether or not they are corrupt.

I would add the Bergdahl trade and the troop withdrawal to your list....sure Obama inherited a horrible, unjust war. But obviously from where he became president, the troop withdrawal blew up in his face.

State to state is...well, state to state, unless you elect a dictator that eliminates all states rights, then they are gonna do what they are gonna do. best to find a state that works with your ideals.
Now, in regards to end up doing nothing, well, Abortion is still legal, welfare and other programs are still active, creationism isn't in school. Again, lots of noise, no actual progress.
I worry far more for SCOTUS decisions than presidental aims. citizens united is a real thing to worry about, building a wall and moaning about islam isnt.

However, did you know there are some states that allow 3rd trimester abortions without any necessity? Some laws do need to change, because once there is a central nervous system attached to a brain, that is a lifeform experiencing things..its a person then, and that is a scientific view of the debate. That needs to change. 100%.

Is that a right wing view? I am generally opposed to killing off a thinking, self sufficient child. I think thats not any wing, thats principled ethics.

You should stop for a moment and consider some stances of the right. Most are dumb, but they do make some legit points in some areas that needs to be discussed with rational minds. The problem is, the rational minds get drowned out by the irrational loudmouths.

As far as the rest, well, again, it shows a ineffective bunch of complainers..they can push for evolution in class all they want, and it aint never gonna happen. they can wish for the us to adopt christianity as its federal religion, and they can keep wishing..wont happen.

I am more concerned with the grassroots movement by the progressive fringe left that is demanding government create new vast censorship laws in the name of anti-sexism, anti-racism, etc. That to me is the citizens united moment for the left..tbh, that is more worrying than CU, as that directly effects me and my liberties...and being a liberal, liberties to me is kinda a big thing.

I don't think the third trimester stuff is true..late term abortions have been illegal for years and has almost no supporters..

I wish the right was a legit option instead of a freak show circus..only one real option is dangerous..

However I can't think of any legit point only the right pushes...

Literally every single issue goes back to:

A) I shouldn't have to pay for that..

B) the bible told me to..

Hell, they even openly admit they would rather have their leaders be principled rather than do the most effective thing for the situation. They want you to do the principles thing...their own personal principle most of the country disagrees with.

Paying for roads, good. military, okayish. food for the poor..I am in favor of simply because it is a major economic stimulus. Healthcare, I am in favor of. University. no, but I can be convinced for trade school courses. (solid trade experience is more employable and often makes more money than university degree folks anyhow). Discussions on what is governments job and what is private citizens job is a good discussion, and I am all for any talk to make things smarter and reduce the deficit, but I dont see that as a option with giving everything away for free unless we basically eat the rich
