Nudity

Another interesting aspect to consider, that others have touched on, is the part of our own self image...

Faced with mass media and the twisted images of unrealistic bodies, everyone seems to think they are ugly.
The first time we went to nude beach, for example (that was first experience with "naturist" places) I was surprised to find what is "normal" is not what I thought.

Not only did I get over my own hang ups about my flaws within ten minutes, I noticed the way some shapes which did not look good in clothing, sometimes look terribly beautiful in the nude! Especially heavier and rounder women- without clothes that are binding and deforming their flesh, they just look very graceful and gorgeous.

I don't know. I personally found it an experience which changed my attitudes in so many ways... it sounds stupid and melodramatic, but getting over the puritan fear of nudity felt almost like a spiritual awakening of sorts.

-Oh and ladies? If you like to swim in the ocean, do body or board surfing and the like- we all have that question come up... what about sand??
i found out that sand is problem when you wear a bathing suit, because it traps it all in the bottoms, and forces it in crooks and crannies you don't want it in. But without the suit, the natural "doors" are totally effective for keeping everything out !

Self-awareness of being naked began at recorded history. The TV set has only been a recent invention of the last past several decades.

Even just a person in their most natural form must be seen as shameful.

If you start letting humanity view each other for how they truly are and in their most basic and natural form without some kind of resentment or in a negative way they might start to identify with each other as equals and in deeper ways than just a false superficial way.

That sort of empathy and self reflection about humanity in general leads them to accept each other and themselves for who they are.

There are some things in our society we aren't supposed to question, and when we do we meet a lot of resistance, and sometimes derision and violence. This is one of them. Don't question. Just obey.

I get the whole control thing, but think it was a little more complex than that. Think of where clothes originated. They were a technology which provided the ability to put on another skin, which meant we could adapt to greater differences in climate or terrain than other animals. We could change our skin to suit our needs.

The whole unintended consequences, and then the political gains seen from becoming aware of these consequences. I think that applies here. It's been a cultural thing to differentiate ourselves with markings for eons. We applied this to our new skins, and learned to captivate mates based on imagination more than reality. We also learned the opposite, how to mask our natural beauty when it was better suited. In some circumstances a woman wants to flaunt to be appealing. In other circumstances doing so means getting raped.

I think if you can see the ebbs and flows through the generations, starting from how it originated and why, to how instincts could shape the shifts, viewing how it is now actually makes a bit of sense. Now, every exact particular movement through our cultural evolution regarding clothing? I don't know or care to know. I do think it was more than simply control, but can understand some people are focused on this aspect especially on ATS.

Does everyone on ATS imagine that it is okay to walk around naked in public? I realize many of you probably do on nudist beaches and what not. But you imagine that the rest of the entire world is wrong and you are right?

And showing off your nakedness to people, for whatever reason you enjoy doing it, is normal? Or being a peeping tom, as it were, and watching other people naked, is a normal thing?

This site is so full of sick people, it is amazing.

There's nothing "sick" about a natural human body.

Basically what you're trying to say is that those who have arrested people for being peeping toms, for exhibitionists, and showing off themselves in public, are ignorant and stupid. The laws against such lewd behavior is written by backward people. And that the norms of people and its society is backward and twisted.

That is all what ATS is about isn't it? Creating a world where everything immoral and evil is good.And condemning all good people as evil.

I'm waiting for an actual reason, not a circular argument which boils down to, this is how we deal with things and you're wrong and a sick individual for not respecting how we deal with them.

I've been thinking about matters along the same lines.

And it seems to me that the bigger people become to themselves(like the more important they think they are), the more snobbish, rigid, and uptight they become. This is important because on the other hand, the people who are able to grasp how very small we are, how very insignificant our one life is in the grand scheme of things, seem to be the freest. And they also tend to make the most sense to me and become the more powerful influencers in my life personally. We only have this one life to live and it is short, and it means very little in the grand scheme of things, and the smaller I personally feel... the grander life becomes and it all fills me with wonder and then people try to trample on my wonder and that's sad, too.

I think I just mean to say... in the face of all the nude bodies that have ever existed and will ever exist in the future? Mine is just another body. Yours is just another body. We should get to enjoy our bodies while we have them. So yeah, I get it and I dig your ATS presence.

Not at all. I realize it is the agenda of the few to pervert society as a whole and paint them as wrong. And eventually even get them to accept child pornography and pedophile, and bestiality as normal.

Is that not also against the norms of society?

You said it. And I imagine the majority of the people on ATS agree with you. A few weeks ago I would have thought this to be impossible. But I have been living in a hole. The degradation of society as a whole, and vast vast vast quantity of perverts that wish to paint their perversions and disgusting filthy excrement they perpetrate on humanity as normal, is ever increasing. And they are EVERYWHERE on ATS.

This person doesn't have any actual reason. That's the thing. They're just that unaware of how silly they're being, this person just can't help their selves.

If you look back, every post in the thread by the individual is circular, accusatory, assumptive, and nonsensical. The only sense to be made is that a thing is so, and so of course a think is so, and I will prove it by stating the thing is so, and that you are evil for not knowing the thing is so. It's stupid.
