For anybody looking for an updated summary to catch-up, The Guardian has a nice summary available here.

I can't see why this plane would ever go NW.

The plane was built in 2003 with no recorded technical issues. They are talking about the possibility of a crash into the Mediterranean Sea.
"They generally don't just fall out of the sky." Looking towards pilot activity or an explosion.

It appears to have gone down over water.

Time in Cairo, Egypt 7:06 AM (GMT+2)

One positive thing is there will be daylight in this critical stage.

It really bothers me that sometimes the news people on the TV (can't remember whether it was CNN or MSNBC as I have been flipping back and forth) exaggerate or misrepresent what was said by that Egypt Air official that called-in.

He said that the Egyptian Air Force had dispatched a plane to the area of last contact, and it had should be just arriving in the area about the time he was talking to them, and that they had not reported back with any status yet.

Whoever it was on the TV, somehow interpreted that as implying that the aircraft had already been on site and had reported back that nothing had been found yet. Yet another person on TV seemed to think that somehow search and rescue personnel being deployed (which as it happens was that Egyptian Air Force plane) somehow equated to boots on the ground in the search area - which of course is NOT on land!

Both CNN and MSNBC late nights are hosted by "cute" people but their bulbs aren't too bright. That's for another thread though...

EgyptAir has uttered the word "crash". They suspect in the Med.
Suspected as suggested.

Update: Belay that, turned out quote came from "Egyptian aviation officials".

This is the first time I've seen the tail-number of the aircraft ("SU-GCC") mentioned here.

Just noting that for future reference, since there was some confusion initially as to whether it was a Boeing 737 (wrong) or an Airbus A320 (apparently correct).

Ehab Mohy el-Deen, the head of Egypt’s air navigation authority, said that Greek air traffic controllers notified their Egyptian counterparts that they had lost contact with the plane. “They did not radio for help or lose altitude. They just vanished,” he said.

Greece has sent a C-130 and AEW aircraft, with a frigate on the way. The captain of the aircraft had 2,000 hours in Airbus aircraft, and over 6,000 hours total. It was the fifth flight of the day for the aircraft.

Just noticed there is a Wikipedia page for this now. Not that there is anything posted on it that is not already discussed here.

Now that word is spreading, it seems like Egypt Air's web-site is probably getting overwhelmed. Won't load for me any more. Of course, that's to be expected given an event like this. They seem to be smart-enough to use Twitter to get the word out, instead of (only) posting stuff on their web-site.

hope the plane will be found soon and all the people aboard are alright...

is the plane missing caused by illuminati or not ? pls read these following info:

The Illuminati and EgyptAir Flight 990
Robert Sterling ()

A copy of this will appear in the next The Excluded Middle.
The most sacred of numbers to the Illuminati is 33, corresponding to the highest degree of Masonry.
When events have the Illuminati's fingerprints on them, they often leave numeric clues involving the number 33 to let those in the know what is going on.
On Halloween, EgyptAir Flight 990 crashed going from New York to Egypt.
At the time of its sudden fall, the plane was at an altitude of 33,000 feet.
The plane disappeared from radars 33 minutes after takeoff.
The EgyptAir plane, named Thutmosis II, had a little over 33,000 flight hours.
It has been confirmed that 33 Egyptian military officers were aboard EgyptAir.
33 people boarded the plane on its previous stop, Los Angeles.
990 is 10 times a trinity of 33's.
The number of passengers is reported as one hundred and a trinity of 33's (199.)
