New Retro Wave

A new trend hitting YouTube lately is a genre of music called New Retro Wave. It's a combination of modern pop/rock with 80's style synth and riffs.

They say time repeats itself. As an 80's child the trends and music of the era are just a fleeting memory since I was too young to recall it but I must have been listening to some funky synth in the womb because this stuff just triggers something in me I can't explain.

Why oh why? The 80s can stay put where it belongs in the past. It was the worst decade for music and fashion.

You forgot about tight pink shirts and mullets. Believe it or not I've seen teens wearing a lot worse, it would be an improvement.

Based on Google trends, the 80's nostalgia is over with. It's all about 90's nostalgia according to the number of web searches.

Wohoooo.. The 90's was f ing awesome!!

Although would it be considered a mid life crisis nowadays, if I rocked at the pub in a Ford escort and blaring my tunes.

I'll see your mullet.

And raise you a "spandex"!

Besides there is no need to go retro. I'm listening to The Police right now!

The 90's felt so depressing, but every decade has it's hits. At least they are making something new.

In my world.. it was all my friends, down the pub, England playing in the world cup, people queuing for the cubicals, Oasis blaring on the juke box, after party, intimate relations with a random chick in a bush, back down the pub in the morning to regroup and discuss the evenings events..

Man.. Those times were the best..

I guess it's your age and what you a experience that make certain decades make you feel nosaligic.. And it's not just what I explained above, I'm kinda messing but that was a small part of it.
The 90's will always have a special place in my heart as will the naughties but for different reasons..

GAH! Phil Collins?! (runs away screaming)

If I ever hear Sussudio ever again I will ram q-tips through my eardrums!! Last week, watching a hockey game (you still see mullets there), somebody (bar tender) let another patron play some music and turned down the TVs. !#$! Really! !@$#!#%$!$%@## Phil !#$!$# Collins! It was all crap like Duran, Duran, ABC, Simply Red, etc. No Devo. No Ramones! Not even the Go-gos. And the games goes into overtime! FML. Finally, even the bartender said, "What is this Boy George sh# on?" and tuned back on the TVs.

Big hair mullets, spandex, and mascara! "Round and round! Love will find a way, just give it time..."
