During his coverage of the Mercury transit, Paul Cox - host and astronomer of Slooh - admits on camera that we do indeed have a second sun and that NASA is covering it up! Wow!!

Shouldn't this title of this thread be:

"Slooh astronomer Paul Cox proves he has a sense of humor-- and it seems some others don't"

edit on 2016-5-15 by Soylent Green Is People because: changed "many" to "some", because it is more accurate.

Sense of humor, lol

OMG.... Yes, we have a second sun. It is only as large as the sun itself and nobody ever noticed util now because, well, NASA hid it.
ATS, really. Seriously.

He does indeed casually mention a second sun......

I thought it was funny.

But I'm the kind of guy who likes dry humor -- such as the humor of Steven Wright, Milton Jones, and Dmitri Martin.

Seriously -- where is this secret second Sun being "hidden" if it could be seen soooo easily by that telescope?

Reminds me this video

I'm not sure what that video -- which discusses the alternate explanation of the motion of the solar system for the precession of the Equinoxes -- has to do with an alleged huge secret second Sun that it seems anyone would be able to see just by looking up.

By the way and for the record, I think that it is at least possible that there may be a brown dwarf star somewhere out there in the depths of our solar system that is gravitationally bound to the solar system...

...HOWEVER, the blob in this video that Paul Cox joked was the secret second Sun is not it.

Looks like he refers to a binary system

Fine. Like I said, there may in fact be a brown dwarf out beyond the Kuiper belt that is gravitationally bound to the solar system. It wouldn't shock me if that brown Dwarf was orbiting out there for the past 4.5 billion years and we didn't know about it.

That's a common hypothesis among mainstream astronomers -- i.e., that there may be a brown dwarf out there somewhere. It isn't a secret.

However, if that huge blob that Paul Cox referred to in that video was a second sun, then everyone would be able to see it just by looking up. THAT'S not what Walter Cruttenden is talking about.

Yes we should be able to see it

Because you say so, an educated and well respected Astronomer disagrees?

No. Because if that thing he joked about that was visible in that Mercury transit video was a second sun, then it would be visible to all just by looking up.

I don't doubt that our solar system might be a binary system, but if it were, the second star would be a brown dwarf orbiting out past the Kuiper Belt, and it would not show up as a huge yellow blob in a telescopic view of Mercury transiting the Sun.

The bottom line is that here may be a brown Dwarf out there, but Paul Cox was simply joking about that huge blob being a secret "hidden" second sun.

Anything in the Infrared spectrum cannot be seen by looking with the human eye. As you'll note in the video, the Sun isn't blindingly lit at all, and the object is slightly brighter than the sun as shown. Infrared.

There are MANY observatories that show this on the internet with live webcams.

But the explanation for uptick in magnetic pole shifting, volcanic activity, earthquakes, tornadoes in unusual locations, strange weather patterns is all the result of man made activity....can't possibly be another solar system moving thru ours...

And where is this second sun hiding, because it is not in our solar system?

Please show one observatory that shows we have a hidden sun that nobody but them can see?

Please provide evidence that Paul Cox was joking about the second sun.
