www.click2houston.com...
This happened just a couple miles up the road from me.
A man was found under a bridge with his head missing.
I occasionally put a canoe in the bayou at this exact location.
This type of thing is unusual in these parts.

That's really freaking strange. I don't like living in a world where random decapitated bodies exist.
Anyway, I'm sorry to the victim..

Hmmm ... poor individual...

well, I'd take care not to p-o ANYONE, especially the quiet, mother-loving nerdy types...

OR you're ...erm, bragging in a safe manner... ?

(kidding, kidding, 'cause we all know everyone on an anonymous forum and there are no such thing as monsters!)

The knee-jerk reaction from the locals seems to be pointing the finger toward Muslims.
I am still open to many other possible culprits.
I'm sure Ali at the corner store is cringing. Poor guy.
It could have been some random redneck doing meth for the first time.
It could be a deal gone bad with the wrong Mexican or Vietnamese gang.
It could be a kid who listens to too much heavy metal.
I hope they catch whoever did it soon.
There must be a ton of forensic evidence.
Maybe it was Sasquatch. Those guys pass through these swampy parts on occasion.
This is the kind of thing that creates dissonance in otherwise quiet communities.

Any illegal Mexican immigrants living in the locale?

Gawds, I'd hate to be the 'outsider' in a turban or burka in that situation (well, even on good days in some areas of the good ol' USA! I stupidly had longish hair in my sojourn across the rural South, and have some stories.. .luckily).

Group terror is gross to watch. Prepare to go "Atticus Finch" if you must.

I live in a border area and there is a deficit of decapitations here...

The drug cartel members are usually too lazy to saw off extremities...

Dismemberment is a calling card with some of the cartels.
They are not lazy if they are are sending a message.

So if it is an extremist muslim thing, it's knee jerk and crap.

but otherwise, you know all about calling cards from mexicans.

God this world is stuffed.

If it was the Asians, it's likely nothing would be found.
They have a reputation for making people disappear.
Crab traps would be baited.

That is very disconcerting.
My first thought was drug-related activity.

Well...my first thought was Muslim....that's their religious calling card...however..you said south Texas, so now I'm leaning toward a drug cartel. They are really routhless .either fits the. Bill.

It sounds like a mysterious murder. The dude was in his truck...minus his head with wallet in back pocket.

Makes me wonder if some type of psycho found him there? He worked in chemical plants and that'll be a factor of interest to the police. Instead of lone-wolf psycho, perhaps there's a drugs-world connection?

Guy's fast asleep in the truck and then this. Poor fella.

As far as I am aware placing the body under a bridge is a mafia type signal letting others know it was them who did it and as a warning to anyone else involved

Have they ruled out suicide? The article didn't say.

I resemble that suggestion. As an enthusiast of fine heavy metal music just because OCCASIONALLY the term decapitation MIGHT be used in lyrics or band names doesn't mean that would REALLY happen. I've banged the ole noggin a many a bangs, but never have even sustained a neck injury, much less a decapitation.

My word, I am just so cross right now.
