Sorry to say, but Zionism is not true Judaism. Zionism is a new thing. It rose in the 19th century. It is an occult version of Judaism which seem to had gain power over Jerusalem because US supported it. Just like Christianity have many occult version of itself in US. Christians thinks they are safe.

Zionism was not officially coined until around 1900, but it was definitely being practiced before then. Zionism, which is the movement to acquire the Holy Land (Israel), has been going on since the crusades, and probably before that too.

In the linguistic usage of the time, "the Jews" meant a race, even more than it meant a religion.
If you asked Pilate what he meant by "king of the Jews", if you asked the average Greek or Roman what he meant by calling someone a IUDEAOS, they would have said "the Jews are a race of people originating in Palestine and now spread throughout the empire".
For that matter, the same ambiguity has continued up to modern times. Hence the term "practising Jew", to distinguish between those Jews who follow the commands of their religion and those who don't bother.
When defining a word, it is incorrect to ignore totally the way the word is normally used.

That's the kind of thing I meant. He was calling them back to the roots of their own religion. He believed in and taught the same God they believed in.

You forget what Jesus is reputed to have said. "I have not come to change the law" What he was saying was that he came to remind Jews of the law which they were straying from.

In fact you could say that they were sorely punished by the Romans later AD 66 - 73 and later on etc, which the religious could argue was God's revenge on them.

The genetics of the Hebrew tribes are what determines race. Those who are adopted into the belief of rabbinic Judaic faith are adopted into that faith but are not genetically a Jew.

Yes Jesus did teach and preach Judaism. He came for His own race first and then that of the gentile. He did not change the law but fulfilled the law. The religious Jews who were in control of the national Judaic practice were the Sadducees
who had paid tribute for the office of high priest and also believed not as the Judaic teachings taught. The entire Jewish structure was corrupt as Jesus came upon the scene.
