Tow Truck Driver Leaves Victim on Side of Road Because "Religion"?

Ken Shupe, a 51 year old "conservative" Christian tow truck driver was called to the scene of an accident, in Asheville, North Carolina, and then refused to aid the disabled victim, Cassandra McWade, when he saw her Bernie Sanders bumper sticker.

“He said, ‘I can’t tow you ... you’re a Bernie supporter,’” McWade recalled. “I was like, ‘Wait, are you serious? You’re kidding me.’”

“I’m a conservative Christian, I’ve just drawn a line in the sand,” he said. “I’m not going to associate or conduct business with them.”

Shupe said he’s never done something like this before. But if someone had stickers supporting Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton on their car, he probably wouldn’t tow them either. “I have the same principles there,” he said.

Ms McWade had to wait in her car, on the side of the road, for another 2 1/2 hours for the next tow truck driver to respond, hoping the next driver wasn't a "conservative" Christian I would suspect!

It seems to me that this kind of behavior is enough to suspend the tow truck operator's right to collect auto insurance reimbursement money in the future, and perhaps even suspend his "tow truck" license or certification, or whatever one needs to get a call from the state and/or be on an insurance provider's list, to attend to accidents altogether.

Right wing politics and religion have blurred into one big bigoted mess of fear and loathing! I have a feeling that this kind of stunt is only the "tip of the ice berg" of what the religious right is capable of, when it comes to their thinking that doing their job, and/or civic duty, violates their closely held "religious beliefs" if it means they have to assist people with different political views.

Shaking my head and wondering what's going to happen when Hillary wins the presidency!!!!

There are literally millions of self described Christians in the world that don't actually follow Christ. They have become tainted with their own self importance which happens to many people Christian and non Christian. Any person who must make a public statement of being Christian, and then do non Christian things like this tow truck driver are following their own glory and not Christ's.

Same kind of thing where people give to a charity, but do it so lots of people observe them doing it, which shows they are doing it for their own glory and not Christ's.

The tow truck driver had the public need to claim he is Christian, and feels first claiming this makes his actions holy.

They don't.

AGREE, the word"victim" gave the wrong impression of some type of accident, but that's good asonly a "victim vehicle"......

You see, having values typically means they are aligned with helping your fellow man in need. Even your enemy sometimes. Someone you talk about loving and following said something to that effect once.
