Ok, Introvert, so he's a racist. I'll give you that.

I don't actually think he is racist. I think he has a foot-in-mouth problem and says things that can be interpreted as racist.

Nobody loves and respects women more than Donald. He told me that very fact on the television. He loves woman so much he married three of them. And, he complements his wife all the time. I read he called her a 'hot piece of *ss'. How are you going to dispute that?

He sure does love women. Whether or not he respects them is another matter.

Not to mention if you take the time to read the story he posted, which is from over 40 years ago, it had nothing to do with discriminating against race. It was about rejecting government subsidized welfare recipients because they were driving down real estate values. Any real estate company knows exactly how this works.

He “accused the Justice Department of singling out his corporation because it was a large one and because the Government was trying to force it to rent to welfare recipients,” the Times reported. Trump added that if welfare recipients were allowed into his apartments in certain middle-class outer-borough neighborhoods, there would be a “massive fleeing from the city of not only our tenants, but communities as a whole.”

I don't know why any intelligent adult would defend his statements in the slightest. It was stupid and potentially racist to say all Mexicans are rapists, but some are ok.

As for the second example, no wrong doing was ever proven, absolutely none.

Your first argument was:
All cases of a person saying some Mexicans are rapists is racist.
Trump said some Mexicans are rapists.
Therefore, Trump is a racist.

Premise one is blantantly wrong.

Your second argument is:
All cases of someone discriminating based on race is racist.
Trump was accused of discriminating based on race but it was never proven.
Therefore, Trump is a racist.

In this argument the conclusion doesn't follow from the premises. Got anything else?

And the "I assume" was a verbal shoulder shrug..He "assumes" some are good, but does not know the same...same as "could be some good ones, but I have never met one!"...thus the need for "assume".

And here I thought it was just not too long ago that Putin was the hero of the universe because he didn't take crap from any Western imperialist powers. There were regular threads on here and lots of posters who said as much continually. I would just like to point out that Trump didn't personally support those charities, his foundation did. His foundation takes donations from people and corporations all over the world, Trump isn't even the biggest supporter of his own foundation. So, I agree that his foundation has done some real good but to attribute that to Trump himself doesn't really pass muster, IMHO.

I think last I heard Trump had donated 3 million dollars to his foundation, making him the least charitable billionare that i'm aware of . If my math is right, 3.5 million out of 7 billion is .05% of his personal fortune. So its all a matter of point-of-view. 3.5 million is a lot, make no mistake, and probably did many people a lot of good... but if you see a man in a suit walk up to a homeless man, pull out his wallet filled with hundreds and drop a nickel in his cup that person isn't charitable, he just wants to look like it.

Wasn't all of his comments cherry picked out from when he was referencing 'illegal' aliens and 'radical' Islamists? I have yet to actually find a full video speech or debate where he is generalizing a complete race or religion. So how is that racist?

I have been watching again since I have been forced to consider him more seriously. I am being sincere in my question above. I am not a Trump fan, but am finding him to be my choice as the field narrows.

Pretty simple. You said SOME Mexicans were rapists.

Trump said Mexican are rapists...SOME are good people.

Let's look at it this way:

If you were out in public and someone said "Mexicans: They're rapists, but I assume some are good people", do we honestly think that it is unreasonable to expect many people to consider that racist? I'd expect people to be pissed at such a statement.

In what world do intelligent people defend such idiocy? Is it ok because a politician we support says it?
