British-based firm Reckitt Benckiser has admitted for the first time selling a humidifier disinfectant that killed about 100 people in South Korea.

Reckitt Benckiser withdrew its product from the market after South Korean authorities suggested a link between chemicals to sterilise humidifiers and lung conditions in 2011.

Reckitt Benckiser kill 100 people

Not exactly breaking but this one is all about how we blindly trust the big corporations... Or at least some of us do.

Chemicals most of us use each day, they work their way into our body through direct contact, via air ways or by entering our water system. But all these chemicals are tested... they are safe for us?

RB make these: Dettol, Nurofen, Strepsils, Gaviscon, Durex, Dettol, Harpic, Mortein and Air Wick - among others.

It makes me wonder about other chemicals which we are forced to put into our body.

Never heard of any of those... Must sell them by a different name here.

This is what we get with no oversite of the various bureaucracies that we "trust" to that. Who watches the watchers?

Ultimately, it's no ones fault but our own.

Try living near a super hiway, dust and vapor from the ball mill effect of grinding rubber, concrete and exhaust into particulates, driven by the cyclonic action of passing vehicles, rises and settles out within a few hundred feet of the corridor, turning everything, literally, black.

The sad part is that this is admitted 5 years after the deaths. Who knows what effects half this cr*p has in our systems. Usually compensation might be paid after long drawn out negotiations, often after the death of the sufferer.

I ask people who do not trust companies like the one in the OP - do they trust the companies making our medications?

Well, obviously this is a North Korean conspiracy to murder South Koreans. Obviously.
