I wish I can own one but alas I cannot due to personal issues.

Yes it was hectic but heavenly, indeed
! I wish i could afford a large piece of ground to build my own cat sanctuary, and a vet on standby for spaying/neutering and health issues.I would have a separate facility also to breed with Harlequin Great Danes, another big dream of my life.If i was rich this is exactly what i would do with my life.Being surrounded by teeming hordes of cats and Danes-heaven on earth

We may be birds of a feather...

A few years back I tried to set up a non-profit to gather materials and funds for local shelters (since I'm not rich either and can't open my own shelter or sanctuary). Unfortunately (maybe because I'm in NY I could afford the legal filing fees and the insurance).

I thought I would need some kind of basic insurance but I was told that, hypothetically, if I had permission to set up a box at the library for people to donate pet food, and some moron took a can of food from said box and threw it at someone else, I (or my non-profit) would be held liable. The insurance was cost prohibitive. Some world we live in, huh?

That's really nice of you both

And yes you are right, where I am it's so ridiculous I tried to adopt a kitten it was $350 plus $80 for two shots plus weeks of waiting time plus I had to come to the shelter a number of times so they observe me how I interact with the cats

Of topic but really ridiculous laws

To feed a homeless it's a illegal where I am plus

Want to feed the homeless? Be prepared to pay the government for the privilege

And so on

Yes gosh that does sound absurd to me.I mean even if someone had to do something as bizarre as the example they gave you-how is it on you/your charity and not on the thrower of the can? To me that equates to you having your car stolen, the car thief kills someone in a road accident while driving your car-and legally you get sent down for the death of the guy he killed..weird.But its great that you tried,i admire that

Here in South Africa too-13 years ago when we adopted our Cassiopeia it was 100 ZAR per cat. That included a free spaying/neutering by the town vet.The prices has gone up immensely by now.I'm not sure how much it is for cats now but about 6/7 months ago we payed 750 ZAR for a Foxterrier x JR puppy. In local currency that is quite expensive.
My husband payed 2 months ago,1 900 ZAR for 2 Rottie pups.It was a private sale from the K9 security unit at his work.So each pup cost just 200 ZAR more than the SPCA pup.Seems its being made more and more difficult to help man or beast. And it"s downright vile and obscene to interfere with people who want to feed the homeless, just wow

I'll be posting more pics as the get older of course.

Right now they are being little wiggle worts, rolling around. They don't even get upset when I pick them up.

And Harley is giving me that "Where is my sushi and cream?" look, mwahahahahaha!

Afraid not, we already have 3 cats: Joe, Whinny, and Harley.

But I have family and friends that have been wanting kittens, so this worked out well.

Awww! So cute! I'm tempted to get a kitten for my kids (ages 2 & 7). But I keep reminding myself that the kittens grow up to be big, fat cats...like the 3 I got for my daughter 3 years ago.

Plus, I'm such a bleeding heart, the last time I went to the pound to get a kitten I ended up with this heifer:

(the cat, not the baby!)
He was obviously spoiled and sure to be put down and I just COULDN'T leave him there.

With 4 cats (plus 2 strays that eat here) I need to pump the brakes and wait for one of them to die and THEN replace with a kitten. Otherwise, I'm on the fast track to 'crazy cat lady'. Lol!

One of my cats would climb on top of the curtains and I found a way
to stop that.I placed large boxes on top of each side of the curtains.
Now she can't get up there and scare me half to death!
Another one of my cats likes to jump up on the window and beat his
tail against the glass.I fixed that by covering the windows with foam
pillows.I know it looks funny, but he would always jump up on the window
when he would see Mama was trying to take a nap.
