Mystery smoke/mushroom cloud filmed billowing from Area 51 area [VIDEO]

Another day, and more strange happenings at Area 51.



What's this? Bomb test? Brush fire? Something else?

A couple driving through Nevada towards the "secret" installation noticed strange billows of smoke rising in the vicinity of the base, just behind the infamous Front Gate, where the white truck can be seen in the distance keeping an eye on things...

Maybe they are just burning more of the toxic stuff they so seem to love to do.
I do hope it wasn't a crash or anything though

Never saw any mushroom cloud. Looks like smoke from a brush fire to me.

I wouldn't call a mushroom cloud strange at an advanced weapons development/testing base.

Obviously "They" are developing some sort of weaponized Tornado device.

When was this? Most likely a lightning strike brush fire.

Nobody mentioned the most obvious, crashed test plane.

Maybe Zaphod heard something.

A HAARP playing like a Viola will sometimes do that...

Looks like toxic burning, or a plane crash, it's quite a dark colour, brush is more likely to be whiteish, or more likely dry and tinder this time of year, and not so dense a plume.

Just to add, the footage is four years old, someone just reloaded it from another youtube site here, Published on 20 Aug 2012.

You realize it is an old video. It was discussed on ATS around when it happened.

You don't have to crash a plane to get a fire going on the range. A flare can do the trick. Or lightning strike.

They generally just let them burn.

There does not appear to be nearly enough brush on that terrain to have any kind of large fire occur for any prolonged period. Is it possible that they had an air crash, something that they were testing just had a major failure and plummeted into the ground.

Good points, and my thoughts exactly. Isn't that area mostly desert?

The article cited some sort of incident involving a pair of B 52's but it wasn't clear if that was in regards to this or some other time.
