Tear the Web

Is there no real life in the observed,
only hints of renewal and promises;
promises of beauty, promises of healing
promises of joy, promises of peace?

Our minds desperately try to make sense of it.
Somehow feelings and truth wound together,
tangled by their continual struggle,
like a spider's web gone mad.

A world driven by impulse to survive,
threatened by so much and by so many.
Where do we hide our souls from harm,
where they can sleep and play in safety?

Do I surrender to find peace
and fight to stand up?
What do I do with my fear and pain,
hurt others as I have been hurt?

Do I love only those that love me?
Will that keep me from insanity
or am I doomed to continue to
TEAR THE WEB?
