Have you ever seen the movie Idiocracy?

Sometimes I think I'm living in the movie Idiocracy, but I will look for it. It's a documentary, if I'm not mistaken. I think I have seen it in one of those on line documentary collections.

Edit: OK. Now I've got it. I'll try to see it somehow.

Here is a write up on it in a UK paper.

Donald Trump for president: is Idiocracy coming true?

It's called "societal amnesia", as in , the lessons learned in the past die with those who lived and learned those lessons.

We are doomed to re-live history because we have no direct memory of learning it by ourselves and tend to discount the warnings by the academic types, as they have been relegated to being thought of as those who can write and teach but can't do, by propaganda and brainwashing and dumbing down via the media and the completely ineffective educational system.

We have a form of "societal ADD", the attention spam of maybe, a goldfish.

Blub.

I'm a goldfish baby, so why don't you feed me?....

Because they are sick of supporting you, lol , I mean come on these 535+ scumbags have been destroying America with their control agenda, and now the chickens have come home to roost. If Trump keeps his word to expose the criminals in government and hold them accountable, keep the American people in the loop on everything going on of concern to citizens, that is what the American people have wanted in the last 6 or 7 elections, genuine transparency and accountability.

At one point in his career Donald Trump was 900 million dollars in debt, to the banks. They are responsible for him being able to clear that debt. Anyone who thinks that the financial oligarchy in the United States, the people who have given you this America, do not have a hold on Trump, is naive.

And what makes you think he is any different than the 535+ scumbags mentioned?

Because he tells you so?

Let me see:
Secure the borders,
Cut taxes,
Shrink govt departments,
Eradicate waste,
Root out corruption in Washington,
Reshape NATO to deal with terrorism,
Destroy ISIS infrastructure and resources,
Stop the outflow of jobs from the US to foreign countries,
Ensure the vets are both held in the highest esteem and are properly supported,
Demand fairness financially when supplying military forces to other countries for their protection,
Get rid of political correctness.

Isn't the real question more like, Why do people NOT support him?

Further, why do people not only not support him, but go to radicalized extremes to insult him and portray him from everything to hating anyone not white to actually being Hitler reincarnated. Nothing he has ever said or done points to the extreme criticism.
The fact the campaign of pure hatred against Trump is even happening should give you some clues to answering the question in bold.

How is he getting away with anything he gets attacked every day. I think they spent the most on him in negative ads in history all for saying things that are common sense. King Obama is the one getting way with almost 300 executive actions.

The anti-Trump and pro-Trump movements seem to be a bit extreme and silly. On the anti-trump side you have people calling trump the next hitler and making him out to be the anti christ. Then, on the pro-Trump side you see people believing every promise and half-assed plan that Trump says. His anti-PC loud-mouthed attitude and his willingness to talk to alternative media attracts alot of alternative news viewers. Such as alex jones viewers.

Yet, Trump can say anything to get into the white house and uber pro-trumpers seem to forget that politicians can freely lie.

It amazes me how strong people are for , or against Trump. I guess big ego, charisma and lots of promises go a long way.

I very liberal and im not against him, I think hes a great guy. I just don't think he spends much time thinking about the issues of America that he is supposed to improve, as in I don't think he has spent more than about 3 mins on each issue. I also think he does not know if he is a republican, independent or democrat.

I just don't think he should be president. If he is, I don't think America will fall apart but he will not make it better, already he is dividing America and more so the republican party.

You obviously don't understand the meaning of authoritarian.

Socialism (bigger, more powerful federal government) is authoritarian.

Classic liberalism and libertarian principles (smaller less powerful government) are the polar opposite of authoritarian.

You obviously don't understand politics.

Its not a spectrum on one line. It's on two axes - libertarian/authoritarian and left/right.

It is possible to be a socialist libertarian or a conservative libertarian. That's why the likes of Proudhon appeal to the right and the left.

It's possible to be an authoritarian socialist or an authoritarian conservative.

To confuse things further, single issues like animal rights, nuclear disarmament or the EU will cut across everything.

Reducing the complexity of political thought to a simple model like yours will always give simplistic perspectives.

Hitler started out saying mean things. According to Ivana, the Donald used to keep a book of Hitler's speeches on the bedside table. His political persona is that of a "milk and cookies" Hitler, granted, but it is still worrying.

The people who dug the pits at the death camps didn't start as fully formed hate machines. They were ordinary people who found someone to blame for their problems, who hankered after a nicer, more wholesome golden age, who were told what they wanted to hear by a charismatic leader. One barely conscious step at a time, history happened.

Of what? He can't win and even if he does it doesn't really matter. Actually I'm quite comfortable. Sorry to hurt your feelings. Don't take politics so seriously and you won't be so sensitive over it.
