How about that, great find Ghost a little Voodoo like you do , reminds me of the execration texts in Kmt, a counter for that maybe a goat or some type of amulet to ward off the evil eye or spells, in the Caribbean many still believe in Obeah both positive and negative.

The concept of ''binding'' is used in witchcraft to this very day.
In this particular curse, it was most likely binding the tavern owners against prospering and or doing anything against the person giving the curse.
The act of binding is like restraining someone from doing something.
Just a tidbit of information on witchcraft, I've read a lot about these things.
