Lucca served with the US Marine Corps in 2 tours of Iraq and one in Afghanistan.
Specialising in bomb detection she successfully protected her handlers and their comrades in over 400 missions, losing her left foreleg to an ied which led to her retirement.

It was quite moving seeing her old handler, a gunnery sergeant, talk about her recovery and his pride in and love for her was quite obvious.

Dunno how he keeps his blues so clean living with a shepherd though. Everything I own is gsd coloured.

Good doggie ::pets:: Great story - it really is incredible what these fine partners of humanity do for us (both on the job and in the home.)

As for the fur, my GSD is actually not that bad with the loose fur, but my Anatolian will turn a black suit blonde in no time.
