You would be in the wrong time and location to witness the dawn of the nuclear age.

You would need to go back to Manchester England 1917 to witness the first splitting of the atom.

With in 15 years before January 28, 1986... with enough knowledge to properly fake credentials to get in on the the construction phase before the first mission in April 4–9, 1983. Preemptively fix the O-ring and other issues that brought down the Challenger, the Discovery, and the Columbia. Makes me wonder what we will find if the space shuttle program never failed.

Yes I agree, going back to fix the o rings would be a nice time to return.
