The stability of Libya wasn't all that great before western intervention. Gaddafi managed to build a personal wealth of 200 billion dollars.

He did so by selling Libyan oil and pocketing the money. He gave free stuff to the areas of Libya that were subordinate to him. He came into power by a coup, and he knew from that time he had to spend money to make sure it didn't happen to him.

He is not and never should be remembered as a good guy. He made life good for a small minority of Libya, and hell for the rest.

I don't think he was any worse than the King of Saudi Arabia, we're allies with Qatar, Kingdom of Baharian. Those countries still practice slavery and their Human Rights records aren't exactly the best either.

Before the Shah was overthrown we helped him come to power through a coup. It's not really a matter of if Gaddafi was a good guy or a bad guy, it's a matter of if the people that live in Libya are better off without Gaddafi and I'd say the 10's of thousands fleeing the Islamic Terrorists is a good sign that the Libyian's themselves aren't better off.

Well getting into the morals of things, we will likely agree 100%, but as you know as well

we're allies

That's why we don't intervene in those countries.

I would be all for democracy being served to SA and all other Wahhabi states.

That was happening under Gaddafi's rule as well. It's not like western intervention suddenly increased Libyan migration. It really didn't.

This was no different than Bush /Chaney profiteering for their cronies in Iraq except replace those names with Clinton / Blumenthal and replace Haliburton with the Clinton foundation.

Despite being an insane ruthless dictator, Gaddafi controlled illegal muslim immigration into Europe. He made many deals with European governments for this purpose. Just look at the humanitarian disaster this caused.

This entire thing was as short sighted and wrong headed as the Iraq war as is their foreign policy in general. The same arguments made against the Iraq intervention are present here. The hypocrisy just reinforces that both parties are different sides of the same coin.

Gaddafi was brought in from the cold by Blair so his masters could stab the Libyan leader in the back and get their hands on its oil and resources , Sarcozy and Cameron wielded the knife and the CIA backed rebels did the deed.
Of course it was regime change , revisionism indeed.

It was certainly cruel and unusual punishment to bomb the Shiite out of the great man made river.....
And also bomb the cement factory that made the pipes to fix it.....
For this dastardly deed alone is a war crime....which Nato, France, and all the rest are most guilty of....
Hillary isn't the only one who should be indicted for such diplomacy....killing peoples water supply just is plain inhumane.....

All you need to know is that Obama hated Ghadaffi who ended his terror support and WMD programs after Saddam was hung, contrasted with Obama loving Marxist Castro so much he went to dance for him.
Obama also had regime change happen in Egypt to put in place the Muslim Brotherhood, who the Egyptian people could not stand after a year so now there is a military dictatorship there in place.

Obama's meddling is following a Globalist agenda that embraces Marxism. His official Advisors and handlers must be card carrying Commies that make policy so he can golf.

The current Washing regime had Qaddafi killed and Mubarak removed from office so they could get the terrorist organization, the Muzlim Brotherhood installed...The Muzlim Brotherhood is the head of the beast that created ISIS, al qaeda, Hamas, and every terrorist group out there...Fortunately for Egypt, they got rid of the terrorist Muzlim Brotherhood...

Just saying there is a better way, and in my opinion the Libyans at least still had their culture. Now they have bombed out cities they can't rebuild because the country is now in a continuous state of war.
