It is a very simple concept.

If somebody does something illegal it goes without saying they will and should be punished for it.

The original interview with Chris Matthews has Trump saying it without legal or illegal. He says it more than once to the interviewer. Matthews asks 10 cents or 10 years? And Trump says "I don't know". The interview is widely available.

Matthews very CLEARLY said "IF ABORTION WAS ILLEGAL, would you punish women for having an abortion?"

How can you make a law and not have a penalty for breaking it??

The answer wasn't direct at all and Trump clearly fumbled with how he could answer the question politically.

Obviously later he decided the better way to move forward was to punish DOCTORS for breaking the law (if it were illegal!)

Obviously it's never going to come to that because abortion will never be banned federally.

He's clearly pro-choice himself and he's playing the populist angle for votes.

Personally for me it's a states rights issue.

I hear this righteous argument about the sanctity of human life, but where is the uproar over war, or children being gunned down in a school, or parents struggling on welfare... families being torn apart by deportation--- and the empathy lacking across the board on these issues. It comes down to this.... Judgment.

They don't want women to get abortions because they judge those women as whores. Whores who would use abortion as a regular form of birth control. Whores who want birth control covered by Obamacare. Whores do not deserve a get of jail free card.

The proof of this is in the totality of positions that right-wing conservative pro-life people hold. They tell women, don't be so promiscuous. Keep your legs closed. If she's going to get an abortion, make her hear the heart beat.

This judgment attitude spills over into other areas as well... it's why there should be no path to legalize illegals. Deport them all. And ban all Muslims. And torture all the suspected terrorists. And while you're at it, kill their families.

There is no sanctity of human life, no real love or compassion. As soon as that baby is born, it can die on the streets homeless and penniless for all they care. This is all about judgment for them, which is why they fight a woman's right to choose.
