The U.S. State Department has issued a travel warning and an order to move families of military personnel out of Turkey.

Looks like the situation there might be getting real sticky.

This could indicate a major military operation from any side involved.

Also could be a precaution because of terrorists in Turkey.

What does this mean?

The Pentagon is ordering the evacuation of nearly 700 military family members from Incirlik Air Base and two smaller military installations in Turkey because of concerns over the deteriorating security environment there.

Families are expected to begin leaving Turkey on Wednesday, stopping first at Ramstein Air Base in Germany, before continuing on to the States or other duty locations, U.S. European Command told Stars and Stripes.

“We understand this is disruptive to our military families, but we must keep them safe and ensure the combat effectiveness of our forces to support our strong ally Turkey in the fight against terrorism,” EUCOM chief Gen. Philip Breedlove said Tuesday in a statement.

The mandatory departure order, announced by the State Department, affects nearly all Defense Department dependents assigned to Incirlik, as well as those at smaller bases in Izmir and Mugla.

About 670 dependents are expected to be evacuated, along with 287 pets. About 770 dependents, most from Incirlik, are currently in Turkey, EUCOM spokeswoman Julie Weckerlein said. Those allowed to stay are the family members of mission-essential personnel.

You'll notice they don't do this with Korean theater dependents. They only issue these orders if the poop is getting thick.

Either civil war is brewing in Turkey, or they're taking a war to Syria

I wonder if it's anything to do with this ?

Obviously...General Breedlove doesn't get an education from reading ATS content.
He would learn US funds ALL terrorists in the middle east.

Funny he slipped that in!

Will other NATO member countries follow suit? Remains to be seen. Perhaps there is intell that may suggest targets in Turkey.

Maybe a good move.

This is just a precaution against PKK and ISIS terror attacks which have been going on in southern Turkey. And it is not order for all of Turkey just the South. Those in other parts of Turkey are not effected.

At this time is most likely a precautionary move, but the potential of whatever it is is very serious. I've read that a very small but very powerful country in the area wants to see three of the bigger countries that have borders with it, broken up so they all become small and one or two smaller states are created.

I suggest that you look up 'greater i......' it may prove to be informative. In fact copy and paste this:

It means the US is keeping safe the innocent family members of US military personnel safe from terror attacks.

Nothing more, but your linked source seems to want to make it something more...which isn't new from Mr. Stone.

Yep, families are staying in Turkey outside of the southern area. If the are in Ankara, Istanbul the North etc. They are not leaving.
