I dont know if this thread is indicative of the true extent that American men have been emasculated but it is quite eye opening to see them vicariously living through another's victimhood and pointing it out as some form of intensely racist practice to justify their own self imposed isolationism and paranoia of what white people could and couldn't get away with.

Let's be honest, if your sons dressed, talked and acted like this clown you would be embarrassed and would have utterly failed as parents.

Not only that but you'd also be afraid that he's not only going out into the world with a target on his back but he's also incapable of handling the repercussions of knowingly embracing being such a moron.

I don't have an issue with black people that 'act white' they have to do what they have to do to be taken seriously in a corporate environment. Their supposed mimicry of 'white culture' is born out of survival and an inherent drive to better themselves and their position.

Fortunately if he gets his arse kicked enough he can cut his hair, put on a suit and talk like he has the education his parents are paying for and it all goes away. That is white privilege...the ability to knowingly make terrible choices and still be able to thrive. You are correct. I guess my mind/eyes played a trick on me. You did not use the phrase "act black."

So I'll rephrase the question. How does a black person that is not "acting white" act? Can you describe that? What are the traits?

The reason I ask is because I know white people that have a terrific command of the English language and I know white people that talk like white trash (for lack of a better word). Same goes for people that I know that are Latin, Black, etc. (To be candid, I work in a large city so I see a lot of pretty much everything).

The point I'm making is that saying someone is "acting" like another race is in and of itself a bit ignorant (and maybe stupid if someone knows better but says it anyway). There is no race that is monolithic and "act" a specific way. I won't say it's necessarily racists because saying that an entire race "acts" one way or another doesn't necessarily imply an insult or a compliment.

But as you mentionend, he can put on a suit, cut his hair and he will get a job.

The woman has definetely the better fashion style. But i guess with her behaviour and the video goong viral her career chances just crumbled.

I personally would not hire her for any job that requires social interaction.
Imagine her acting like this to a customer - that would be embarrassing and very bad for business.

Saying that some black people "act white" without giving ANY description of what that means is vague. I asked you to expand on that.

I still maintain my previous point (which I will rephrase here). A person's ethnicity is remarkably less important than who raises them, where they are raised and what they are taught.

What parameters? I set nothing nor indicated that there should be any parameters. You made a statement about people "acting" as something that they are not. Imitating other people, essentially. When I asked for specifics you refused to answer.

I agree that (assuming he stops carrying himself like a moron) he can clean up his act and get a job at some point.

However, if this video didn't go viral, the exact same could be said for this young woman. Although she may have been talking nonsense, based on what I could make out she spoke clearly and has decent control over the language.

Now, it is true that all potential employers in the future that decide to do a Google search of her will find this (and that may affect her chances)... I would point out that any future potential employer that Googles the young man will find a video of him acting like a little punk.

I think one somewhat off-topic takeaway from this is that I think EVERYONE from young to old should be reminded that cameras are EVERYWHERE now and the interwebz are FOREVER. As it pertains to the kids in this video, if this exact exchange happened ten or more years ago it would never haunt their futures.

If you refer back to the first page some other idiot made the comment about blacks acting white and directed it towards me, I was referencing it. Those weren't my words either but you can probably see the pitfalls now in addressing it and understand my reticence in doing so again.
