Four-year-old girl beheaded in Taiwan knife attack

The disturbing fact is that the perpitrator went to the defenceless little 4yr old. Could this have been prevented if someone nearby was paying more attention? I am sure the attack took place in a very busy area.

The perpitrator purchased the knife earlier that day. If he truly had a mental illnesses, would he not have just stolen the knife?

He should be able to be approved for execution ...

The mother of the slain child said her daughter had been riding her bike about a meter away from her when it became stuck.

She saw the man approaching and at first thought he was going to help her daughter but he drew his knife and decapitated her.

"I saw the suspect slashing my daughter with a cleaver. I immediately grabbed him but I could not pull him away," she said.

Bystanders heard her screams for help and rushed to restrain the attacker until police arrived.
An initial investigation found that the suspect, identified only by his surname Wang, waited near the metro station after allegedly purchasing the knife at a supermarket earlier that day.

Yes, it did take place during broad daylight. I read it on another news website. Saw the photos. Absolutely horrible!!!! I didn't get to see the man's eyes, but you could tell that he just wasn't there, perhaps he was on drugs. Something about him looked off, not quite right.

I feel terribly sorry for the mother, who said, she was trying to stop him, but wasn't strong enough, and by the time strangers tried to help, it was too late.

I hope he rots in hell. What a wile monster.

I would make his death last so long, he'd need a blood transfusion just to keep it going. Mental or not. He should die in the most horrific way possible for all the public to see.....then brought back to life and do it again.

Crimes against the pure and innocent can never be forgiven, and we as a race of people should never give quarter to such an individual. Not even for a minute.

Human rights, civil rights, mental capacity....all BS. Kill him, and let his family have the first crack of the bat.

That's kind of a silly thing to say. The guy is mentally unstable, whether or not someone feels what he did was cowardly matters not. That's not how his brain works. From the sounds of it, he waited until something triggered him. Unfortunately, it was this poor young girl.

Scary part is when it comes to being mentally unstable, you never know who around you is like that.

Like this guy right here. I understand why he believes what he does, but in all honesty he sounds just as messed up, because, y'know, acting just like the bad people but worse is really the best way to further the human race. :

This certainly seems planned and premeditated, not the choice of victim, but the intent to commit a knife crime. Horrible.

I feel like ever since I became a mother, I have ended up including the fact at some point in my posts, because that is what has given me new determination and new values, and new emotions I never knew I could have....

Reading this made me very sick. I feel like crying and throwing up when I read this, and I can't imagine how her parents feel, especially her mother, who essentially was forced to watch her child be mercilessly decapitated.....

The following is my merciless opinion: Police should have left that man to the angry mob. They should have let them rip him limb from limb so that the rest of the community would know not to make that same mistake.

Some people might think my reaction is harsh, and that's fine, everyone gets an opinion.... but as far as I'm concerned, "If you hurt my child, be prepared to die"

All you people who are suggesting torturing, maiming and finally killing people who clearly have MAJOR mental issues should think about moving to the middle east and joining one of their death cults - you'd fit right in. (and as a bonus you could do the same to gays, christians, women and anybody else you wanted too)

His Execution should be the same as his crime, only done with a dull butter knife. What a terrible, thing for the parent to witness as her daughter is being slain right in front of.

That's fine, you're entitled to your opinion.

It is my opinion that once your mental illness takes someone elses life, you no longer have a place on this earth or in this society, and should be removed. If you find that heartless or disagree, that's ok. We can be compassionate on different topics, this isn't one of mine.
