Flat Earthers would point you to the official map they believe is accurate and say that Japan attacking Hawaii is very plausible using this map. I'm serious.

And it would be possible. Really nothing in flat earth changes much until you get south of the equator.

The problem is that the further south of the equator you go the more the problems compound

But I bet I could still debate those problems with a little ingenuity and outside of the box thinking.
Like the plane route thing. But I haven't looked into that much.

Quite right, it is also possible to "Circumnavigate" the "globe" on the flat Earth model going east to west or west to east, the only way to "Truly" know would be to circumnavigate going from north to south or south to north but almost nobody does that for various reasons.

This simple fact is a large part of the fuel for the flat Earthers fire.

Us "globe earthers" (is that a thing?) will say it's down to the "flat earthers" as its their claim.

"Flat earthers" will just say it's down to the "globe earthers" to prove it.

So you'll just end up in a circular argument and nobody will pay.

I'm sure a similar argument with an Antarctica trip was brought up a while ago and no one could definitively decide who would be responsible for payment. The ones who said it can't be done because the earth is flat and you can't go all the way across or the ones saying you can.

That being said, let those who think the earth is flat continue to think so. Enlightening them would only boost them to a level of mindset that could possibly enable them to read, and then we would lose all chances of them dying by eating things they shouldn't or prevent them from a run in with something flammable.

I have never heard of anyone explaining away the reason for near identical flight time to and from positions on a spinning globe when traveling with this supposed "spin." Not to mention that any plane that lands near the equator perpendicular to that spin will have it's landing gear ripped off - as the world is supposedly spinning at approximately 1500 feet a second. Is any ATS rocket surgeon available to explain how a jet travels sideways at 1500 fps as it lands? Anyone?

Besides, wouldn't all airports be oriented exactly parallel to this spin? Take a look for yourself.

If it isn't flat-ish (not seeing California from New York flat - jeez,) I don't know how these things can be done.

I'm convicted to nothing, just curious, as things don't seem right, so...

Maybe something is in control of such things and they have long made things work as THEY prescribe. I don't know, but consider the lies that you've been told so far. We may have no idea.

When you jump straight up in the air do you land hundreds of feet away? I mean, since the earth is spinning and all.

Same applies to planes.

There is also one huge factor in both of these and this is distrust in "global?" private organisations such as NASA or perhaps any Political parties.


It is easy for me to see how flat earthers think with such volatile elements as distrust and business in the world.

I can completely understand how science and the ability for critical thinking is thrown out the door when it comes to flat earthers. Neither of those have anything to do with distrust of the government or any other organisation.

I am either at the highest point of the flat Earth (because I can't see the end, or even further than the horizon), the moon and the Earths shadow falling on it (showing a curve) is a hologram, and the many pictures of the Earth from space (including people sending up their own cameras nowadays) are fake. If any or all of those are incorrect assumptions in disproving the Flat Earth theory then there is many math equations proving this along with ways they can prove it to themselves.

I love reading these threads though. I don't think one member has stated for the record that they believe in this...but I probably am wrong.
