Greetings ATS family! I don't think you can start a thread with only a question, so I'll pose it here...

Would it be mentally "easier" for Donald Trump Supporters to get behind Ted Cruz, if Cruz wins the nomination, or would it be easier for Ted Cruz Supporters to get behind Donald Trump if Trump wins the nomination???

I'm don't mean having the nomination "given" to either one by underhanded establishment tricks, but by genuinely winning the most delegates? Which candidate's supporters are more flexible, and want to keep Hillary or Bernie out of the White House the most???

Personally, I could easily vote for Trump or Cruz. Whomever earns the nomination fair and square. If the Republican leadership screws around with process and hands it to someone other than those two, I'm voting for Hillary or Bernie.

This is a visceral emotional campaign; if you are saying any supporter of either can reason this out between two factual party candidates I would say NO.

carewemust: I'm don't mean having the nomination "given" to either one by underhanded establishment tricks, but by genuinely winning the most delegates? Which candidate's supporters are more flexible, and want to keep Hillary or Bernie out of the White House the most???

The Democrats have the same sneaky problem with super delegates. The Populist vote does not matter within either party if push comes to shove. The RNC or DNC delegates decide who wins (you as voter are an after thought; but thanks for the impute).

You sound like an Independent voter.

We need Trump, whether you personally like him or not.
We are hiring someone to fix our country, not inviting a buddy over to sit on your couch and hang out.

I think that Trump has what it takes to clean up our economy and get our country back on track - trade, immigration, health care - everything.
He knows how to work the system, and he is the only candidate with the real work experience to accomplish something.
I believe that he is the only one who actually wants to reduce the deficit and the only one who knows how.
He is not in the pocket of the special interest groups, and is not going to be controlled by other politicians.
He is going to make changes, and he is not going to cower to the powers that have controlled other presidents.

I think he is smart enough to work with congress. He will surround himself with smart people and make the tough choices. I don't think he will force executive orders as some fear. I think he knows how to negotiate and will get it done.

No other candidate admits that the loss of manufacturing in this country is a very serious problem for our future.
Trump knows how to fix that.

He is the only candidate that sincerely seems to want to fix this country.

If someone does not seriously make some big changes, there will be nothing left for future generations.

I also think he has some issues with saying things that are not PC, and I don't care, as long as he gets the job done. It should not be a popularity contest. It should be choosing the best person to do a job.

Bravo! Well said.

GW was the type of guy I'd like to sit down and have a beer with,

My boss is an outright asshole. But, he's a boss that I know will fix things and I can rely on him.

If it takes a hard-ass, sobeit.

Thank you, and exactly!

I don't agree with many of the personal viewpoints of some people I know who are still very successful at their jobs.
Although - the media likes to twist Trump's words to the point that I think many people don't like him just from what they hear in the media spin, and don't research the facts.

Consider those protesting at Trump rallies. Do you think they really know Trump's policy plans, or understand why they are protesting? Or are they simply parroting what they have heard and taking what they have heard at face value?

In this video, they asked protesters at a rally why they were protesting, and they could not even come up with a reasonable answer, other than repeating what they probably heard in tweets:

You are asking for an 'electoriate' to vote into reform both parties; (what does does that mean potentially) a one party system? Socialism leads to Communism. Power mongers "those corrupt" wielding that political might will conceptualize and bastardize or turn into Authoritizm/Dictatorship/Totalitarianism to fit the agendas needed to control their people. Believe in your God and let others believe in their own God and leave each other alone. There is but ONE God that rules all; our problem, as its children cannot GET ALONG (we never have throughout history).

Also assuming Hillary is the likely candidate for the so-called left. In this likely scenario, who is the better choice?

Cruz has no shot at all. Simply put, his type of voter is in the VAST minority these days. The traditional GOP voter profile is history.

Trump, on the other hand, on paper, doesn't have the numbers either. However, I think there is a HUGE number of closeted Trump voters that simply haven't spoken up for fear of social branding. However, in the privacy of the voting booth, they can choose who they want. Without this, neither one can beat Hillary, let alone Bernie, in a general election. Bernie would bury either of them. (which is a pretty sad statement on just how deluded today's youth is)...but that doesn't make it different.

The thing about Cruz is he is probably the only politician in history more adept at lying and manipulation to get elected than the Clintons. The way politics works he may be the only one who could beat Hillary.

I like that Trump talks about modernizing the rail system, airports, etc.. whenever stupid reporters aren't trying to trick him into hanging himself.

Cruz seems to be more focused on "abolishing" things... like the IRS, Obamacare, and a few other items.

It would be nice if they'd run on a ticket together. We'd kill two birds with one stone.

Sorry then, because I have no idea what your response had to do with my post.
And, how did God come into it? Or Socialism? or one party?
Sorry, but still no clue as to what you are trying to say, or what it has to do with what I posted.

The writers of the Constitution; its Articles/'Bill of Rights' were not penned by Atheists or Dictators. Read the words that comprise this document; there is great wisdom within them regarding the humans destiny, its INDIVIDUAL value as human beings; and a warning because those writers knew great "COURAGE" would be required of those having to face dangerous (civil) or world changes. "In God We Trust" is printed on all of our currency for a reason
(not sure about the One Million Dollar Millard Fillmore bill).

Shaping up to be a bad day for Trump. Cruz has taken the lead for the first time in the Reuters national poll of Republican likely voters, now leading Trump 38 to 37... and some early turnout numbers in key Cruz areas of Wisconsin point to a very big win by Cruz tonight...

I think it's looking more and more like a brokered convention - third party Trump run? Or will he call it quits before Cleveland?

Well what do ya know. Fox News has finally found something negative related to Donald Trump...barely. Someone is skimming Veteran fundraiser dollars it seems.

Confused by this - it says that half the money has already been dished out... Wouldn't it be somewhat normal to release funds after checking how it would be used and taking time to do that? The event was only two months ago. Do we know when the money was received by the people who pledged?

Seems like yet another unfounded hit piece.

Indeed..it does sound like something fabricated..or at least blown out of proportion. These charities would have received $0 if Trump had chose to attend the debate that night, instead of holding a fund-raiser.

On a thread-related note: Didn't TED CRUZ say that he uses his Bible during masturbation, or something like that, back in 2015? Or was that one of the other candidates?

I'm watching Ted Cruz and his family participating in a live CNN Town Hall right now. Ted says that he wrote a book last year. How does a sitting U.S. Senator find the time to write a book?!?! Our country needs full-time leaders, don't we?

It's ironic that Senator Cruz, the man who proclaims that he "masturbates with his Bible every night" (ref: dailycurrant.com... ) is calling Donald Trump "stark-raving nuts!", because Donald feels that Transgendered people should be able to use whatever bathroom they feel is appropriate.
