Saw the first episode of the 1966 series on the Horror channel.
Might try and keep up with it if they're showing the whole thing.

Failed to get onto the rest of Taken, the postman brought me The Phoenix Incident.
It was sort of fun watching the real stuff mixed into a fictional movie but, really, I'm just very glad it was cheap.
Not recommended.

Wasn't "Intruders" from the early 1980s? Are you getting confused with the similar sounding "The Invaders" with Roy Thinnes.



I think I used to like that series when I was a kid. Not sure how it holds up these days though.

Yup.
Done it again.
I thought it was the same one but its not.
They do it on purpose.
Next it'll be Inaliens or Inextraterrestrials.

The hair and suits are really cool!
I think its been repeated quite a lot so pinning down when I first saw it would be tricky. Possibly early 80s.

I saw that abduction movie on TV too.
It really didn't do much for me.
Was it based on Hopkinsville?
Or just a farmhouse and some guns?
Anyway, not the best.

If you take the Invaders and UFO, you'll find so much of the core story. From a narrative point of view, both series are groundbreaking. Both show central characters with decaying personal lives due to their obsession with the invaders.

Both detail an invader that is not all powerful but must act on shadows and must move carefully.

Episodes often end with a stalemate or a defeat for the humans. Without a spacesuit or human body both types of alien quickly degenerate and die.

Both detail an invader from a dying world.
