It was so hot that February had the single biggest recorded monthly temperature anomaly (deviation from the 1951-1980 average temperature) — a whopping 2.4°F (1.35°C) above the average temperature for the month. The previous record deviation from the average — 2.0°F (1.13°C) — you may recall, was set in January.
In fact, as The Weather Channel noted, “The five largest monthly global warm anomalies in NASA’s database have all occurred within the past five months”:
By all indications, March will be near the top of that last too. And that means that it’s increasingly likely that 2016 will be even hotter than 2015, which itself was the hottest year on record since … 2014.

There have been at least five major ice ages in the earth's past (the Huronian, Cryogenian, Andean-Saharan, Karoo Ice Age and the Quaternary glaciation). Outside these ages, the Earth seems to have been ice-free even in high latitudes.

So why is this scary? Is cold going to help? Good luck growing food in the arctic.
There is a food abundance but the whole system is messed up dude.
Desertification has nothing to do with global warming but rather abuse of the land and soil. Our agriculture is wrong is so many ways and is only based on income and production as fast as possible.
This day and age food should not be a concern to any human being, tell that to the guys you vote for and let them supply the poor and the need instead of taxing our asses off.

There is a horrible drought with water shortages and wildfires in the West and Southwest of this country. I doubt the wineries and citrus producers are abusing their land. This is from global warming.
