This article is about a voter ID law in the state of Texas, but the real news is contained in the middle of the article. According to a respected pollster's estimate, voter ID laws may suppress the Democratic vote almost 9 percent. I think it's safe to assume that is the real reason why Republicans are always pushing these laws, along with all the other types of voter misleading and suppression they do. Considering how close some recent Presidential elections have been, it's easy to see why they would want to do this.

Personally I cant think of a single real reason not to require Id to vote. But I can think of a few reasons why not requiring Id could be real bad.

I have a lot of trouble understanding this issue, it just seems to be a no brainer, You don't want non citizens voting do you? You don't want people voting twice do you?

Same.

You need an ID for everything. You can't cash a check, get on a plane, drive a car, buy a bottle of booze, etc.

Why not voting unless you want to promote corruption.

Yeah.

I don't get what is wrong with the democrats that they can't get to vote?

How does it affect only dems? I don't get that at all.

It's only a no-brainer if you expect a level playing field.

Everyone knows politicians lie ... but that covers up the fact that they also like to cheat their asses off. They'll get away with anything they can and cry foul when you don't let them make-up rules that run in their favor.

Alright TWO can play that game.

Every time a person has to show ID to buy a gun its voter suppression.

Every time a person has to show ID to get their government benefits is voter suppression.

Every time a person has to show ID to buy a bottle of booze is voter suppression.

Every time a person has to show ID to buy a pack a smokes is voter suppression.

Every time a person has to show ID when they get pulled over is 'voter suppression.

Oh wait 'none' of that is voter suppression, and yet perfectly acceptable.

Only one of those is a constitutional RIGHT.

If people don't have to show ID to vote.

Then I don't have to show one to practice my second amendment RIGHT.

Can't have it both ways there.

Yes because if you are a minority you aren't smart enough to get an ID right?

I mean you just need it to drive or get a job or buy r rated movies or beer or just about anything.

But minorities can't get one right?

Stfu!!!

That is about as racist as it gets.

" minorities can't get an id because they aren't smart enough "

That is what your are in fact saying...

I say vote trump, if it's going to burn anyways, might as well be entertaining to watch!

Now that is a new outlook I have not heard yet.

You really have to consider how many illegals Texas has and hundreds more by the day. Beyond that Texas has really gone out of there was to make sure everyone has easy access to an ID.

If you want to complain about Texas for something it is the Republicans redistricting to assure a republican majority.

Alright, I agree with you there, but how does that apply to requiring an Id to vote? Cause it seems to me if we require an Id to vote, it could possibly put an end to voter fraud? Good for both parties?

Of course this does not address in any way electronically computer assisted voter fraud, which is the way of the future for our burgeoning democratic Fascist government.

That is in fact what the left is saying yes. They are as racist as they come. They birthed it, and they profit from it.

If democrat votes are down 9% because of voter ID laws, does that mean that before voter ID laws, democrats were cheating and getting an extra 9% of the vote?

I wouldn't mind voter ID. I do mind if its enactment causes legitimate voters to be unable to vote. Does that concern you at all?

It doesn't. It affects seniors, students and the lower class. It doesn't matter which party.

Nope. It would sink the party that espouses political correctness. All you'd have to say is, "Vote for Stoopid!!" and the election would be clinched.

An excellent point as well.

If voting is important to you, in my state you could save $0.15 every month in the course of 4 years between elections to buy your ID.

It isn't suppressing a vote if you have years to sort it out.

For a state ID, you don't need a car, insurance, the ability to physically drive a car...you just need to exist.

Always have!

" minorities can't compete with whites on a level field, so we have to give them extra support to make the field level for them"

Is that not the essential argument behind all their bs?

Just like " white privilege ".

It assumes only whites can do X, and others need help to do the same.

It is the epitome of racism and they can't even see it....

And that is why they fought Lincoln, formed the KKK, fought against civil rights etc...

It is all to hide the fact that they are the real racists, because they honestly believe if you aren't white, you can't do the same things whites can.

Hence they have placed whites on a level that others can't reach, so they must be helped up to that level.

It is shockingly ironic for most people, only the dumbest of us can't see what it all means.

Ok, crap, now I don't know if we agree or disagree here. I guess I, like you, just want to end the corruption that has taken hold. I don't care about democrat or republican crap.
