Personally I cant think of a single real reason not to require Id to vote. But I can think of a few reasons why not requiring Id could be real bad.
I have a lot of trouble understanding this issue, it just seems to be a no brainer, You don't want non citizens voting do you? You don't want people voting twice do you?

voter ID laws may suppress the Democratic vote almost 9 percent

This article is about a voter ID law in the state of Texas, but the real news is contained in the middle of the article. According to a respected pollster's estimate, voter ID laws may suppress the Democratic vote almost 9 percent. I think it's safe to assume that is the real reason why Republicans are always pushing these laws, along with all the other types of voter misleading and suppression they do. Considering how close some recent Presidential elections have been, it's easy to see why they would want to do this.

It's only a no-brainer if you expect a level playing field.
Everyone knows politicians lie ... but that covers up the fact that they also like to cheat their asses off. They'll get away with anything they can and cry foul when you don't let them make-up rules that run in their favor.

Yes because if you are a minority you aren't smart enough to get an ID right?
I mean you just need it to drive or get a job or buy r rated movies or beer or just about anything.
But minorities can't get one right?
Stfu!!!
That is about as racist as it gets.
" minorities can't get an id because they aren't smart enough "
That is what your are in fact saying...

Good for both parties?
Of course this does not address in any way electronically computer assisted voter fraud, which is the way of the future for our burgeoning democratic Fascist government.

That is in fact what the left is saying yes. They are as racist as they come. They birthed it, and they profit from it.

Nope. It would sink the party that espouses political correctness. All you'd have to say is, "Vote for Stoopid!!" and the election would be clinched.

An excellent point as well.
