Hypnosis is a discipline that is as old as civilization. It appeared first time probably in Ancient Egypt or in Ancient India, but it was clear than when Marco Polo visited China in the XIII century it was already there.

Hypnosis state is a kind of trance in which critical judgment is visibly reduced, the person obeys instructions or suggestions given by the hypnotist , who, however, to be able to perform it must have gained the trust of the person that is hypnotized.

Hypnosis is a state of human consciousness involving focused attention and reduced peripheral awareness and an enhanced capacity for response to suggestion.

Modern Hypnosis appeared in Europe in between the XVI and XVII centuries with notable Physicians like Paracelsus, Franz Anton Mesmer, and James Braid in Switzerland, Germany, and Scotland respectively who associated it with the theory of the animal magnetism, a kind of energy that can be used to enter in the subconscious mind of others and reprogram it.

One of the most famous students that took the courses of Arons in 1970s was the famous Barrie Konicov, who founded an empire on the business of hypnosis tapes in 1980s, and also had one of the most notorious scandals of Tax evasion of the US History and was a candidate to the Congress for the state of Michigan by the Libertarian party in 1994.

Could be a very useful ability in negotiations with Putin and the Iranians.

If you pay attention to many people in the media, politics and others that have quite a bit of exposure, many of these techniques are used. If you take a decent public-speaking course, you can learn some of the techniques as well.

Control of voice, body language and a bit of Neurolinguistic knowledge plays a role in Trump's speech lessons, I'm sure.

He isn't actually hypnotizing people. His trashtalk is just smart. With your logic every politician is trying to hypnotize people.

NLP or neurolinguistic programming is a highly valued skill in the business world. Expensive retreats, training camps, books, seminars ect are attended by power-executives the world over.

Being it's Trump, I would not be surprised at all if he is using NLP to enhance his ability to persuade people into doing what he wants. It would be stupid of him not to have read or taken NLP training.

A very simply example of NLP...

A lot of NLP is making people do things you want them to do, all while having them believe they're doing it on their own, of their own free will and choice. It's creepy to see someone doing something YOU made them do, and all the while they are convinced it was their idea.

As the opening post clearly says this is a hypothesis proposed in an article recently published by the Journalist Ralph Benko of the so prestigious Forbes Magazine, more specifically in their issue of November 28th 2015.

By the way if we consider carefully it suggests a very interesting theory of why Donald Trump has the kind of meteoric ascensus he has showed in Politics this year.

Since the subject is Mind control based on masses hypnosis I considered it was appropriate for one of the forums on Paranormal or rare unexplained phenomena of ATS.

Of course, as a serious ATS member with almost a decade of trajectory posting interesting threads, I have respectfully complained to the Supermoderator and requesting a reconsideration on the reasons for which it was moved to another forum of the one it was originally posted at.

Science knows that Hypnosis works, however there still many doubts about why? although it is a so ancient knowledge serious scientific research on it is still really recent.

I am sure the intention of Mr Benko is to explain a rare political phenomenon that has been right now analyzed by many sociologists and political scientists around the country.

His hypothesis, among others that have been discussd by the media analysts, is valid in the framework of a serious research about the accelerated pace of Trump career to the Whitehouse.

To say that it represents an insult to his supporters or voters I believe is merely subjective, it belongs to what is a Value Judgment on it, it goes beyond the scope of the original journalist investigation.

I have a very clean record on absolute respect of the norms of decorum and mutual respect in the communication in all the forums I use to post in ATS, so I wouldn't be the person to bring insults to other members here.

I think Ralph Benko did a tremendous job in to detect aspects in the personality or style of Donald Trump, what you decide to call his charisma, that can be explained though the properties of collective hypnosis.

What the article focus is the power of seduction of Trump over the masses, not if it is morally correct, it just mentions the presence in his rhetoric of elements that belong to Hypnotic mind control.

Now, the fact that this research may alert people of factors or resources that were not previously explained by other sociology theories on the fast momentum and success of Trump political campaign in this 2016, that may have been used to convince them, independently of ethical considerations, makes it interesting and deserves to be considered and known by the public opinion.

The Public opinion deserves to be informed that this methods of promoting political causes exist, so my intention to bring it to ATS is merely as useful information for members interested also in different applications of Hypnosis.
