This is just talk at this point, but Trump said he may switch to independent because the Republican establishment is attaching him. This was predicted by a lot of people here on this forum at the beginning of the race and so if it does come to pass it will seem like a pre-planned conspiracy to many. The real question is, if he does switch does he really think he can win, or would he be purposefully giving the election to Hillary as many have predicted?

I don't really know what to think, but it does seem somewhat suspicious to me. If this was prearranged with the Clintons or someone else I wonder what the end game for Trump is?

End game for Trump? Hell he financed his own campaign other than the other welfare recipients that were adorned in gold and worshipped by their faithful followers!

Out of all of them left, Trump is the only one left with a REAL JOB. You know, the one he built?

Win or Lose Trump still has it made compared to those of us stuck in the cycle of worshipping corrupt men/women in government.......

Donald Trump has stated from the get go, that if he felt that the Republican party treated him badly or that he was not getting a fair shake, he would run as an independent candidate. And the other part of that threat is that he would try to take down and out as many as he could in the process.

He is fighting to win the nomination and the Presidency, just now that they GOP has upped the ante, time to see if he is going to make good on his word or if he is going to fade out.

He reaffirmed just last night that he wouldn't. All it would do is assure a Democratic win; like Perot in '92. I think it's meant as a scare tactic towards the Republican party; to assuage them from pursuing a brokered convention.

I've been calling him Donald Perot for some time now. Bill spoke with him shortly before his announcement.

Operation big picture: If Trump goes indie, what's to stop Bernie from doing the same? After all, it's much easier for an indie to win from within a 4-way split....

The way things are shaping up, this could be an historical race in more ways than one.

I think Hillary is paying CNN to continuously regurgitate anti-Trump stories, rumors, and guests, day and night. I leave home this morning and CNN is airing an anti-Trump story. I come home this evening and CNN is interviewing Glenn Beck, who now apparently dislikes Trump. That network is so greedy that they'd do negative stories on the U.S.A., if the price were right.

If Trump is forced to run as an independent, and Hillary wins the Presidency, CNN will pay a price for being such a low-life network.

I would love to see Trump split with the RNC, then if Sen Sanders would just tell the DNC to go screw themselves, it would become a real race.

I can promise you with the amount of tax payer money being used by our government for psychological purposes, neither you nor I are geniuses when we come up with these scenarios!

If you or I can come up with these ideas, they have thousands of head doctors way ahead of us......

Will it make a difference other than 4 years of realizing we still have a house and senate full of dirt bags?

As citizens we need to end Citizens United. You know that thing that allows Corporations to be people but yet in our corrupt legal system a corporation cannot be held liable as a person can?

Term limits, which will make it harder for big money to pay for their stable of prostitutes?

Also we need to realize that as citizens we need to pay more attention to our elected officials on the policies they vote thru rather than the ribbons they come home to cut showing how they just created a couple hundred jobs! I am sure those who got the jobs appreciate it, but it's what they vote for federally that it seems we either don't pay attention to or we just willfully ignore it, because they at least did THIS?

This whole thing of people getting so riled up over who our next president might be does nothing more than tell those in charge of our elected puppets that they are still smarter than we are!

When your own party is scared that the people like you so much that you might win and be able to make changes that are for the country, that they start telling the people to vote for anyone but him shows you that they don't want what is best for the people.
They want things to stay the same and hope that we keep falling for all the BS that never changes.
Maybe we need someone who is not PC and says what so many people are afraid to say, but do in fact feel the same way about some of what he says.
Even the career politicians that agree with him but are too scared to say it . Because they are scared there will be voted out of there job for

I've said it a few times before but I think both Trump and Sanders should give a big middle finger to the parties that are trying to railroad them and run Independent.

Who here would vote for a Trump/Sanders card?

Watching these grown men fight amongst each other is like watching little kids. Seriously, these people are running for president and this is how they behave. It's embarrassing.

If he does this, and does it optimally. He will literally destroy the Republican party. As in, we will have a one party system for the next 10+ years while a sane opposition reforms. Take out the establishment, then Congress falls, an election later the state/locals fall.

If this happens, it won't be just Trump he's simply the final nail in the coffin. The issues with the TP, Koch influence, getting more extreme every year, and so on. It will all add up to a failed party.

Trump very well could do this. If you remember, Trump has explored runs for a long time now. He picked this moment because the RNC is so weak due to the party already fracturing.

We would be better for it in the end if it happened, though the next 10-15 years might not be so great.

"..the one he built"

No. The one he inherited.

He's claimed more in bankruptcy than many families will earn generationally.
Yet he's still a billionaire. Riddle me that one Batman.
