I'm as repulsed by Trump's crudeness as the next guy, but as I've watched this whole dog-and-pony show play out over the last few months and as I've attempted to strain out the white noise of the MSM and all the parrots that repeat what they are told to think, I've had a nagging sense the the guy was on to something. This article convinced me that he is probably one of the smartest men to run for public office in the US in years.

The 199 Most Donald Trump Things Donald Trump Has Ever Said @ politico.com

The quotes that I thought most revealed his strategy in this whole election cycle debacle came from his book The Art Of The Deal. Read thiese nad tell me if you don't think that this is exactly what he is up to!

  • 38. “One thing I’ve learned about the press is that they’re always hungry for a good story, and the more sensational the better. … The point is that if you are a little different, or a little outrageous, or if you do things that are bold or controversial, the press is going to write about you.” (The Art of the Deal, 1987)
  • 39. “Sometimes they write positively, and sometimes they write negatively. But from a pure business point of view, the benefits of being written about have far outweighed the drawbacks.” (The Art of the Deal, 1987)
  • 40. “Sometimes it pays to be a little wild.” (The Art of the Deal, 1987)
  • 46. “Controversy, in short, sells.” (The Art of the Deal, 1987)
  • 48. “I play to people’s fantasies. People may not always think big themselves, but they can still get very excited by those who do. That’s why a little hyperbole never hurts. People want to believe that something is the biggest and the greatest and the most spectacular.” (The Art of the Deal, 1987)
  • 84. “There are singers in the world with voices as good as Frank Sinatra’s, but they’re singing in their garages because no one has ever heard of them. You need to generate interest, and you need to create excitement.” (The Art of the Deal, 1987)
  • 85. “I’ve always felt that a lot of modern art is a con, and that the most successful painters are often better salesmen and promoters than they are artists.” ( The Art of the Deal, 1987)
  • 92. “People think I'm a gambler. I've never gambled in my life. To me, a gambler is someone who plays slot machines. I prefer to own slot machines. It's a very good business being the house.” (The Art of the Deal, 1987)
  • 99. “I aim very high, and then I just keep pushing and pushing and pushing to get what I’m after.” (The Art of the Deal, 1987)
  • 101. “I’ll do nearly anything within legal bounds to win.” (The Art of the Deal, 1987)
  • 113. “Sometimes, part of making a deal is denigrating your competition.” (The Art of the Deal, 1987)
  • 114. “One of the problems when you become successful is that jealousy and envy inevitably follow. There are people – I categorize them as life’s losers—who get their sense of accomplishment and achievement from trying to stop others. As far as I’m concerned, if they had any real ability they wouldn’t be fighting me, they’d be doing something constructive themselves.” (The Art of the Deal, 1987)
  • 180. “I don’t do it for the money.” (The Art of the Deal, 1987)
  • 181. “I do it to do it.” ( The Art of the Deal, 1987)

The man knows what he is doing.

(Not to mention that he's spot on regarding Rosie O'Donnel.)

And to be honest, I'm not really repulsed by Trump's crudeness. IMO, he's no worse than the rest of the contenders. He's just up front and honest about it.

I agree, he is selling himself to the American people.

Wether people like it or not, retards rednecks racists morons and just flat out idiots get to vote just like everyone else does.

He is selling himself to the masses, not just the special little snowflakes like the rest.

He likes to use hyperbole..he said. Doesn't do no harm he said.
He doesn't say when he would use it.

People argue and fight over how the system works and Trump comes out and says what most of us already know, but too scared to accept it and he is the most hated man on the planet?

Another 4 years of the same ole evolving arguments is way more scary in my eyes than just saying "Screw it"? Maybe I am going insane because I have lived long enough to see the repetition in how they control us and manipulate us into what we all hate now?

I'm not a sadist, and I can't take another 4 years of more of the same ole bullsnip!

I almost want to impose a 2 cents tax on being offended!! It isn't like the tolerant left is as tolerant as they "preach"?

Caitlyn Jenner Supports Cruz, Tolerant Left Spews Hate

This crap is getting old. Tribalism is what it is, been with us for centuries. Those who don't like those who disagree with them want MORE RULES! Yet we bitch and moan about the police state?

Hey, look everybody!

AN AD HOMINEM ATTACK!!!!

How original.

I bet you just don't actually have anything to say of any value to add to the discussion, no well-pondered, meaningful thoughts, so you just call people names. (Which indicates to me that you are most likely the kind of person that you tried to slam in your comment.)

In the first place, my OP was NOT about the quality or character of Trump as a candidate, nor about the character or quality of his supporters. It was about the fact that he is a thinking man (whether his thinking is right or wrong) and that he knows what he is doing.

Please do not derail my thread.

If you must comment on Trump's qualifications, then please - If you have the ability to think and analyze - please explain to us how any of the other contenders are inherently better than Trump while avoiding trivial name-calling, because it really makes you look ridiculous and pretty much makes your argument moot.

Donald Trump says stupid stuff because he is talking to his constituents and not attached to a teleprompter. I find it refreshing even if he does put his foot in his mouth.

I'm not offended so I avoid the tax thankfully.

I just don't see it as respectful to go out of your way to be insulting of others.

But as explained by the man/woman him/herself, Sargeras is a retarded redneck, so all is good.

I don't care about the left wing.
Not one iota, and their thoughts on Caitlyn Jenner remain in the obscure domains of places I don't visit.

So you might understand what I am getting at. Who divided us? Yet we play their game to perfection.....

Call me anything you want, just don't call me late for dinner! I will die without food, while words from others can only hurt me if I allow them to!

In your opinion, you forgot that part.

Oh look, an ad hominem attack was used by the person complaining about it!!

Lol, you make me laugh!

Who did I use it on BTW?

Because I must have missed that part.

That's about where I am, seeker.

I didn't vote in the last election four years ago because all the candidates were crap.

I will never openly endorse Trump, but when it comes down to it, I just may cast my vote for him for those very reasons.

But then, again, I may stay smart and write in Vlad Putin.

No, no ad hominem attack on my part, just an observation. If one cannot address an issue with well thought out and meaningful comments, but must resort to attacks on the character of individual people that do not actually play into the topic at hand, it indicates a certain lack of thoughtfulness on that part of that individual. If you care to, please prove my deduction wrong. I would be delighted for you to introduce some thoughtful, intelligent content to this discussion.

As to your comments, they did amount to an attack on the character and intelligence of all Trump supporters and were an attempt to deflect the discussion from the issue that I presented (Donald Trump's comments in years past that reveal a real strategy to his current campaign). They were neither thoughtful nor did they add anything of value to the discussion.

Seems like a stright shooter to me. Most of those quotes where infect quite good and insightful in my opinion. He takes a very no nonsense approach to life. Doesn't procrastinate and stagnate and then blame others for his short comings, he dose it all and it's all him.

Interesting fellow to say the least.

I like this one

108. “A lot of people sit down and discuss their lives, things like are they happy, but it’s not like that with me. I don’t think positively, I don’t think negatively, I just think about the goal. But it’s not like I sit down and write goals. I just do things.” (Master Apprentice, 2005)

I don't find that he says anything more stupid than what the rest say. He's just not polished about it. He's upfront about it, whereas the rest obfuscate their bovine feces.

But that's the whole point, if enough people stuck in Putin, the message would be pretty clear, you would prefer his Mafia to the one that's been running the country for years.
If Hilary and Donald end up as the main players, what you will have is a barrel of stinking fish, and if either of them manage to become a President, it could only mean that they were voted in on party political lines. The trouble there for yourself..should you vote for Trump, is...are you voting for a GOP member, and the answer is yes you are, yet this is the guy who calls all the rest stupid..often, while he calls himself intelligent? I would rather say crafty though, but that's just my opinion.
I rather like this video biased as it may be, perhaps with good reason, but still needs to be looked at.
