We hear so much about corruption and wrongdoing against our fellow beings that if someone comes across or even is noted for being a businessman of
"solid" integrity (adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty. ) that person is under a microscope. I've had
2 professional backgrounds during my working days and both required a State license. One of being a contractor in "California", yes, California, and
the second one is of a license Real Estate Broke in California. I really got an eye opening about "liens" put on homeowners while a broker. I found
myself mostly working on referrals to be in the Compton area of Los Angeles. I couldn't and neither could the homeowner believe how nasty the
contractors are to the homeowners. ( I mostly worked on fire damaged property, through the insurance companies at the time). Well, I tried to help out
as much as I could, but in the end, it was a losing battle for the homeowner. So many sad stories (mostly black home owners), that I finally gave up
after 2 years and focus more on investment properties. Now with investment properties, its not how you tell the truth, but how you get around about
fibbing a not so accurate statement. I was not lucky, I had a set of rules before I got both license and that was not to cheat my customer/client at
the cost of making a buck.
