Many of the Impressionist ilk that I enjoy regrettably would not be consistent with the ATS T&Cs.

However, I've always loved the vibrance and texture of Leonid Afremov's works.

Such as: Old Dream and especially Catania.

There is a very thin line between art and porn sometimes (even if it's just a nude). That must make certain artworks tricky, if not impossible, if they're nudes. Whoever was discussing the painting wouldn't be able to post a pic of it.

Yes, that is true. We can appreciate the human form in its various representations, and there is nothing wrong with that, because it is art. There is nothing wrong with appreciation of the human form even if it is not deemed to be art. The human form is beautiful in all its stages. We have a T&C here that I respect. It's not a conflict for me. It wasn't a conflict before I was a moderator. It just is.

My Darlin' and me have a Marilyn Monroe painting hanging in our bathroom. It is supported by the colors of the room. Some would call it explicit. We call it art, and we enjoy it. Nothing wrong with that, yeah? I would never ask to hang it in someone else's house, if you take my meaning.

I can't seem to get the hang of posting pictures. If someone could post this for me I would appreciate it.

I remember we had a print of this when I was a kid. I always thought this girl was so beautiful.

Some eye opening paintings here. Stupidly I didn't put two and two together but.... I'm buying a house and we've been spending our time thinking of colour schemes and styles, I never once considered artwork and how the decor can fit the painting or how the painting can suit the decor. But now I'm completely spoiled for choice.

The hard part will be choosing some art which we both like.

Cheers guys. I'm starting to love ATS again. You may have noticed I went through a cantankerous couple of years, I'm looking forward to the future.

Child prodigy Akiane’s ‘Prince of Peace’...

She painted this when she was 8 years old.

...she has been called a genius, a prodigy, a crystal child, an indigo, a messenger, a visionary, an ambassador, and the first true master of the 21st century. Her originals are sold for hundreds of thousands of dollars, many are valued at millions, making Akiane the most successful living visual art child prodigy in the world. Tens of thousands of dollars have been raised through auctions and art exhibits and donated to needy people throughout the globe.

The interest in Akiane has reached unprecedented proportions, with over 200 published art works, 800 literary creations, two published best selling books, regular appearances on prime-time TV and radio, such as Oprah Winfrey Show, World News Tonight, Good Morning America, Glen Beck Show/CNN, The View, Fox News, Montel Williams Show, Late Late Show, Lou Dobbs Show/CNN, Hour of Power, and numerous others, top media coverage in Brazil, Japan, Korea, Norway, Lithuania, Ireland, England, Canada, Middle East, and China, with an induction into the Kids Hall Of Fame, and World Council for Gifted and Talented Children, almost 300 million hits a year on www.akiane.com, the main website for Akiane gallery and over 100,000 daily hits on internet searches of the world wide web.

I love this painting - The Squatter's Daughter - George Lambert - Australia. To me it typifies the original aussie outback girl and the landscape reflects a gentle safe environment. I've been to places like this in the outback. Silent, still but interesting nontheless.

"Lambert’s prime interest, however, in The squatter’s daughter was in conveying a universal squatter’s daughter. He gave it a generic title rather than the specific ‘Gwendoline Ryrie at Micalago’ , to indicate that it was an image of Australian life."

Hope you like it.

Kind regards,

Bally

Paintings of Dutch scenes by Hermanus Koekkoek, or those made by his father or brother, for that matter.

I just love how he captured the Dutch skies.
