Good gravy.
Looking at a site regarding the subject of the OP, saw a link to the Texas 'Flying Doritos' story, from there it went to the Boscombe Downs Incident.... Which I have never heard of before.
An interesting story about a black aircraft incident in England with ties to Area 51. Check it out if you don't already know the story.

Yes I did.

However thanks to member Nelloh I've now got a link to the original video. Check out the 1:40 mark.

www.youtube.com...

Isn't that interesting.

Thanks again for Nelloh's keen eyes in finding it and sending me a link. All credit goes to him.

Made me roll my eyes.

With a valley girl accent:

That's sooooo 90s...

Sadly I grew up in the valley as a teen and my sister had a strong valley girl accent.

I grew up listening to her say "No, Duh!" and "Like, Gag me with a spoon"

But I was no better I used "Rad" a lot.

Just curious about the source. I've been finding my blog has been cropping up here since 2013 at least when I started going back through old threads.

I grew in Los Alamos, NM
  • , so I missed out on the Valley slang. wicked and radical came and went before I entered the larger world.

*. Old saying: I live in Los Alamos: I glow in the dark.

From an America used to more overt expressions of tech...yes.
We have/can do better than a B2 face lift.
AND the really cool stuff is still secret dang it.

I believe that's what it's supposed to be.

Wonder what the LRS-B lockheed woulda came out with if it's relying on proven proprietary lockheed technologies.

I dunno I always wished our Bomber Fleet was more diverse and capable than just having a B-52 (still awesome though) A Bone (Happy memories at edwards air shows) and the B2 (remember Edwards had her buzz the line of cars waiting for the gate to open at the airshow, one year) Like we still need a F-111 replacement. A Bone Replacement. Some other types of bombers I can think of.

I'm just glad the valley accent lexicon didn't have Hella in it. I've never liked that one for some reason.

I use Dude a lot that tends to irk some folks. I had a college professor get indignant every time I'd say Dude to him.

They weren't prototypes, they were demonstrators, so technically they're right.

    Yup. That's me.

grey580 (?) linked to me back in August and it produced such a flow of traffic this time I followed it back.

I used to discuss this stuff back on Usenet (rec.aviation.military) but that died out by and large in the Oughts.

This place fills a much needed niche.

    I'm guilty of 'Dude.'

I think I might have instigated 'uber' as a slang word though. It was a joke for a Ukrainian friend (my grandmother was German), but friends picked it up and it seems to have spread. And died out. Except as a company name.

The General in Charge of Global Strike is saying he really wants 175 to 200 bombers.

They need at least 150 to allow for maintenance, Depot work, and attrition. Which will seriously beat the Triton in terms of attrition. The Navy is planning on losing 4 of those every 100,000 flight hours.
