Happy birthday! I had a girlfriend that went to Kona a lot. Have fun.

Aw, Hawaii's a wonderful place! I've never met friendlier folks anywhere else in the US. It's kind of like a whole 'nother country out there.
We did one family vacation there for about 2 weeks when I was 10-ish, we visited little towns around Oahu (my dad thought it was important to visit everyday places & people, too, not touristy spots entirely) and everywhere we possibly could on The Big Island. As far as the parks, HVNP left a huge impression on me, that place (for the curious kids) is a fricking geological wonder & a half.

Also, my love of coffee was cemented after visiting a coffee plantation. I can still taste that fresh (in every way) cuppa all these years later...
