Nice try.

Polls how do they work?

No one is saying Trump supporters are all racists, but going by the poll numbers they do suggest that a large percentage of his supporters...NOT ALL...hold very backwards beliefs.

So everyone that dares insult Trump or his supporters are Hillary apologists? Lol ok

Trump supporters are just too stupid to realize that if he does indeed get elected, he would swing so fast to the center their heads would spin :p

Yes, all Trump supporters are idiots!

How tolerant!

*clap*

You want people to tolerate intolerance?

How does that logic work?

We have freedom of speech of here in Merika!

That is how.

Just because someone believes in somthing that you disagree with( all religions in my oppinion, this is where you are an idiot to me BTW ) doesn't make them an idiot or bad or wrong etc...

Folks are allowed to have freedom of thought and speech, it is what free folks do.

By that logic you should be jumping for joy when people are intolerant of intolerance.

Not crying about wanting only one side to freely express themselves.

Actually, you started out by stating "But I don't agree with guilt by association."

Which was aces, as far as I was concerned. But others found it disagreeable if I started using the same broad brush against them and their candidates.

Personally, I don't care what people think of me. I don't care if they think I'm stupid for having an ideology different from them.

But some tend to get sensitive when the same approach is applied to them.

Which I find greatly amusing.

You applied it to me, wrongly.

That's not stand up behaviour or ATS worthy decorum.

I'm not asking you not to point out hypocrisy, I'm asking you not to associate it to me when I haven't once been hypocritical.

Bernie fans see socialism as a good thing, Tovarisch.

No Sh*t Sherlock. But I don't see anything in those polls where Bernie supporters agree it's cool to not have a job and hate freedom. Hmmmm....

It seems to be you liberal types jumping for joy every time you demand anyone that disagrees with you be silenced.

hold very backwards beliefs.

Nice try.

So, please define "backwards beliefs".

A belief is subjective and may or may not be based on facts - a belief is an opinion and it's a typical leftist strategy to label anyones beliefs as backwards when they run counter to their own.

The polls may say one thing but media will SUGGEST to weak minds and the uninformed that these polls show that the majority of Trump supporters = racists, bigots, xenophobes.

Buffoonery.

I haven't demanded anyone be silenced.

Spout your drivel from the rooftops...
I'll be waiting when you get down to tell you you're an incompetent nincompoop.

We can see the propaganda almost immediately upon closer inspection.

From the Article:

But first, two caveats about these data are worth bearing in mind. The national YouGov survey was done near the middle of January, before the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire and South Carolina primaries. Public Policy Polling is a company aligned with the Democratic Party, and some of its results over the years have been suspected of bias. Taken by itself, its conclusions could be doubted. Taken with the YouGov and exit poll data, however, these three surveys can give us a better idea of Mr. Trump’s backers.

Except it's not "taken with the YouGov exit poll data". This is all I could find from the YouGov poll regarding those numbers, which seems to conflict with the PPP numbers. PPP, of course, is a democrat leaning company.

-only 8% approve strongly while 36% disapprove strongly that Japanese interment was a good thing.

-and here's the kicker 5% disagree strongly, 8% disapprove somewhat, 53% approve strongly with the Emancipation Proclamation.

This particular statement seems to be outright false, given that there is no such information in the YouGov poll:

Similarly, YouGov data reveal that a third of Mr. Trump’s (and Mr. Cruz’s) backers believe that Japanese internment during World War II was a good idea, while roughly 10 percent of Mr. Rubio’s and Mr. Kasich’s supporters do.

YouGov poll

From the PPP poll, some interesting info missing from the article:

Public Policy Polling surveyed 897 likely Republican primary voters and 525 Democratic
primary voters on February 14th and 15th.

Needs repeating.

Good post.

Many will ignore it though.

Because that's the full percentages of all surveyed. Read the poll from the beginning, it breaks it down per candidate.

Never mind. I'm here to have fun. Not get in heated arguments. Trump supporters are the salt of the earth and also some racists but probably much less than accused of!

RE: Japanese interment during WWII
There is a difference between smart at the time and a good thing in hindsight. At the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor, I would have joined the great majority of Americans who supported the interment. Similarly, I currently support 100% Trump's suggestion of placing a moratorium on immigration, visitors, and asylum seekers from terrorist embedded Islamic nations. History may one day paint that as a poor choice, but given the known facts today it is a valid and defensible choice.

RE: The rest of the poll...
Ooohhhh, some poll is accusing a group of racism, whatever shall I do? *wring hands* WHO GIVES A FLIP ABOUT THAT NONSENSE? America had better get their head and their ass wired together properly, prioritize their goddamned outrage more wisely, and realize that being strategically targeted with an accusation of being a racist over opinions and political positions is as meaningless an "insult" as can be found today. Some members of Group XYZ are calling you a racist... and? This is how you end up with crap like the Black Panthers strong arming people at the polls in Philly to ensure their guy gets elected... I reject that and say that being true to yourself and your opinions, even when unpopular among some demographics, is way more American and righteous than be a phony just because you feel the need to always be viewed as "enlightened."

I'd consider not agreeing with the emancipation proclamation a backward belief.

Wishing that the south had won the civil war is a backward belief.

And so would most rational people that don't live with a tin foil helmet on. You can try to put lipstick on Trump as much as you want but the fact of the matter is that he resonates with a lot of angry people that hold those beliefs.

and why would I want to put lipstick on a goose? You know I'm not a Trump supporter and that my posting history has always supported Bernie as my personal choice, but don't let that stop you in your righteous Hillary crusade.

LOL - again, nice try.

Right

The only crusade here is your crusade desperately trying to vindicate the racist beliefs of some of Trump's supporters 😂

The American Communist Party supports Sanders and Goldman-Sachs supports Hillary.

And your point was?

This is called 'villianizing the opposition' and is a form of propaganda that is as old as time. Everyone saw this coming as soon as Trump( or Sanders, if he ever becomes an actual threat) began to truly threaten the established order.

No one is falling for this spin heavy BS anymore.
