Muslim migration into European countries

I do not understand how some people are of the opinion that the current migration of Muslim migrants into European nations is a good thing for the European nations. So I ask all of you reading this that do think it is a good idea, to explain yourselves so that I can understand. My question to you is why should European countries allow and continue allow this influx of Muslim migrants into their countries? I'm merely trying to understand.

I think it's because they haven't thought it through. The impulse is to help a people in distress, but they haven't thought it through.

Because they are hypsters, that lack the ability to think or reason for themselves, and have been told by their liberal prophets that multiculturalism is great!!!

Because their current culture is evil, therefore it must be destroyed and replaced...

Of course they will never admit to this, but what other reason makes any more sense than this one?

For a large proportion they are people first, Muslim second whose actual former homeland is in the process of destruction where they cannot guarantee their own safety nor that of their family never mind find gainful employment. Don't worry about that though, call it a Muslim invasion, lots of people on ATS prefer that it seems as allows them to keep their prejudice and bias in full flow without looking at the bigger picture.

I don't think it's to their benefit, at least not in the short run. I think there are going to be massive upheavals in the culture and interactions of those countries and there will be great sadness and gnashing of teeth. But I can't, in good conscious, just think "Screw em, let them deal with their own problems." The west and europe is not blameless of the current instability of the region. Of course, realistically, there will be bad people that come with them, but there are already bad people everywhere you go.

Well, this is just Europe, having to pay the piper for meddling in international affairs of the last 30 years.

You can't have a proxy war among members of NATO and non members, destroy a whole country and then not have to take care of the aftermath.

Exporting democracy has a few side effects, namely a lot of people are displaced and become refugees, they have no real other option but to go away somewhere else or get killed in the crossfire.

So is it good they are migrating? No. But not because they are all criminals who want to take over the country.

Was it preventable? Yes.

It's also an issue for the Gulf States. They aren't contributing enough. Muslims should be taking care of other displaced Muslims. They should have a greater part in fighting ISIS and helping deal with the fallout than the likes of Germany, France and Sweden for example.
